Even when I'm just having a casual drink, I like places where the food itself is actually good quality! Today I'm introducing a Korean-style bar and restaurant that nails both great food and a lovely atmosphere — Jusangnakwon, near Dongtan Bukgwangjang (North Square).

The high-ceilinged 1st and 2nd floor spaces
Walking inside, the high ceiling gives the whole place an open, airy feel with zero stuffiness. Soft, cozy lighting mixed with an emotive interior made it a perfect setting for drinks.
The first floor has an atmospheric open kitchen you can see, while the second floor is a cozy loft-like structure that fits small gatherings or work dinners of around 20 people — it looked perfect both for a Dongtan date and for group get-togethers, haha.
Every table has a tablet installed, so you can order at your own pace while browsing menu photos and prices — really convenient!

1. Beef tartare (한우육회 타르타르) — ₩23,900
Finally, the beef tartare arrived looking gorgeous from the very first glance! Fresh Korean beef tartare mixed properly with a luxurious seasoning and nutty flavor.
One bite in and there's absolutely zero gamey smell — it melts away with a chewy, tender texture. The beef itself is genuinely artful!
The seasoning wasn't overly sweet or sharp, just enough to bring up the umami — it honestly felt like eating a fine-dining dish, hahaha.
2. Crispy shrimp minari pancake (바삭새우미나리전) — ₩16,900
Next up, the light yet crispy shrimp and minari (water celery) pancake, perfect for picking up piece by piece!
They packed in a generous amount of minari, and the moment it arrived, a rich, fragrant minari aroma hit right away, ㅠㅠ.
The edges were as crispy as a chip while the inside stayed light with plump, springy shrimp — the texture combo was insane, ㅠㅠ! Not greasy or heavy at all, just clean, so it was completely fine as a drinking snack.

Unlike typical neighborhood bars, every single side dish here is at the level of a real 'dish,' making it a perfect Dongtan Bukgwangjang spot to enjoy a meal and drinks at once! Thanks to the open, high-ceilinged atmosphere and refined Korean menu, I'd strongly recommend it both as a Dongtan date course and as a venue for work dinners or small gatherings. If you're not sure where to go near Bukgwangjang, definitely stop by Jusangnakwon, haha.
