An oasis in the city

I had a lot of solo work to get through today, so I went looking for a quiet café where I wouldn't be disturbed. I was so surprised to find such a lovely café this close to Hapjeong Station!

A big two-floor Hapjeong café for working alone

• A large café spanning the 1st and 2nd floors
• Lots of tables and space to spare — good for working alone or chatting in a group
• The overall calm mood was really nice
• Plenty of spots for a solo seat too
• Big plants and open floor-to-ceiling windows make it feel like a botanical garden
• This is also a popular brunch café — lots of brunch menu variety, and the "ragù pasta" I tried was really delicious!

The signature dish at Seowon Angil Hapjeong

I ordered Seowon Angil's signature menu, the "ragù pasta," and knew from the first bite. This isn't just a brunch spot that looks good in photos — you could really feel the owner's sincerity in the food.

There's a club sandwich for something simple, and chicken breast steak, a favorite among the diet-conscious crowd.

There's also aged kimchi fried rice with bacon, and mapo tofu rice, which pretty much everyone likes. I'm planning to try the kimchi fried rice next time. The beef tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) sounds tempting too.

Is Seowon Angil Hapjeong comfortable with a dog?

Seowon Angil Hapjeong tends to be quiet on weekday afternoons, and although I didn't take photos so as not to disturb anyone, there were a few people there with dogs. As a dog owner myself, having a dog-friendly café is such useful information! (I saved it right away as one of my favorite spots.)

Especially since this place is huge with wide spacing between tables, you can really bring your dog along without worry. Even a large dog, if calm, would have plenty of room to lie down beside you.

Second-floor sofa seats, group tables and closing times

The 2nd floor is really nicely decorated too!

There are cozy, plush 🩷 sofas that would be great for couples too.

The vintage interior and props are fun to look at :) You can really feel the owner's sense of style here.

Group seating is also ready 👌 Even with a large crowd, there's plenty of space at Seowon Angil. There are so many pretty tables you'll be happily torn over where to sit. The 2nd floor also gets plenty of sunlight through the floor-to-ceiling windows — being in this space just makes you feel at ease.

The 2nd floor at Seowon Angil Hapjeong closes a bit earlier, while the 1st floor closes at 8pm on weekdays and 9pm on weekends. Since it's a brunch café, it seems to wrap up earlier in the day.

Tasting the ragù pasta, lassi and iced Americano

Today I ordered ragù pasta, an iced Americano, and a lassi.

I'd heard this place was known for its pasta, so I had high expectations for the ragù pasta.

Rigatoni pasta made with a deeply flavored ragù sauce, simmered for a long time with beef and vegetables. The ragù sauce really is intense. It was so delicious I ate it right up — the ragù pasta is a dish I'd confidently recommend to others :)

A refreshing lassi ♡ Slightly sweet, so it's tangy and sweet at once.

A little luxury enjoyed alone on a weekday afternoon. Coming to a space I love, ordering the coffee I love, plus a delicious drink, and on top of that a leisurely late lunch...! This is exactly the kind of small happiness 🩷 A cool, refreshing iced Americano ♡

A place where you can enjoy everything from brunch to bakery items. It's also dog-friendly, so it's a lovely spot to spend relaxed time with your beloved pet. When you want to take a break from the bustle of Hapjeong, Seowon Angil is a great place to enjoy both the atmosphere and brunch together.
