Yongsan ramen restaurant with mild broth and dongpo pork: Menya Seoul
In short
Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch is a ramen restaurant in Yongsan, Seoul. After a film at Yongsan CGV, I had the Dongpo Pork Chashu Ramen Double Set with mild broth, mini gyoza, and Zero Coke for 20,900 won. Verdict: a filling, easy solo meal after the movies.

After watching a movie at Yongsan CGV that day, I had a little time before my next appointment, so I decided to grab a simple lunch on my own♪ There are so many tasty things at Yongsan I'Park Mall these days that I quietly agonized over what to eat. But as I thought about something easy, filling, and comfortable for solo dining, I thought, ramen is exactly it! So off I went to Menya Seoul. I already love ramen, so I walked in without much hesitation~!~!
A Japanese ramen shop feel in the food street

Menya Seoul felt less like a standalone restaurant and more like a ramen spot in a food street. Still, the atmosphere inside had that unmistakable Japanese ramen-shop feel, which I liked.

Most of all, the bar seating was such a welcome sight for me as a solo visitor! When you eat alone, it can feel a little awkward to sit by yourself at a table for four, but the bar seats made it easy to eat without feeling self-conscious, haha.
I visited around 2 p.m. on a weekday after the movie and was seated right away without a wait. What surprised me was that, even at that in-between time after lunch, there were still quite a few customers! It didn't look like there were tons of seats, so I thought there might not be a spot during the lunch or dinner rush.
Ordering the Dongpo Pork Chashu Ramen Double Set

- Today's order: Dongpo Pork Chashu Ramen Double Set (₩20,900)
- Drink: Zero Coke
- Side: mini gyoza (Japanese dumplings)
It was lunch, but I wanted something substantial, so I boldly ordered the double set, hehe. I love dongpo pork, chashu, and ramen, so I loved the menu name from the start >< You can choose between spicy and mild broth. I debated between them until the very end, but chose the mild broth that day!

Mild-broth ramen made extra filling with two pieces of dongpo pork
Because I ordered the double set, there were two pieces of dongpo pork on top of the ramen. When it first arrived, I thought, yes, I was right to order the double… but as I ate, I got sooo full ^_ㅠ
The dongpo pork itself was thick and hefty, so having it with the ramen was seriously filling. I had definitely come in thinking, “I’ll just have a simple lunch before my appointment~,” and then it was entirely my fault that I ordered the double set. Still, since I love dongpo pork, I happily ate until I was stuffed. . . . The double is great if you want a substantial meal, but I think even the regular set would be filling enough!
I chose the mild broth, and in the end I enjoyed it, haha. I like spicy ramen too, so I debated until the last moment, but that day I wanted something less intense and went for mild. With the dongpo pork and chashu in it, the broth didn't feel too light, and it was easy to slurp up with the noodles.
One bite of thick dongpo pork, some ramen noodles, then a sip of broth! Slurp ෆ It was such a good lunch for properly feeding myself after a movie. But here is one personal hot take: I think I would have liked it even more without the seaweed. This is truly just personal preference, but why is seaweed showing up here.... Without it, it would have been more my taste!

The combo with mini gyoza and Zero Coke
And then there were the mini gyoza that came with the set! Ramen alone might have felt a little plain, but it was nice to have a dumpling here and there. I especially chose Zero Coke too, and the ramen + gyoza + Zero Coke combination was very good_good.
After salty, warm ramen, having a gyoza and a cold sip of Zero Coke felt like a reset! I was already plenty full from the double set, but gyoza is a side, so that is separate, right? Hehe. And that is how I ended up finishing everything properly.
That day, I visited specifically because I was looking for somewhere to eat alone after a movie at Yongsan CGV, so I liked how convenient the route was too. It seems like a good option if you want a simple meal before or after a movie, or are looking for somewhere to dine alone at Yongsan I'Park Mall!

Ramen after a Yongsan movie that I want to revisit
I casually visited Menya Seoul at Yongsan I'Park Mall because I already love ramen, and I came out much fuller than I expected, hehe. The Dongpo Pork Chashu Ramen Double Set was seriously filling, especially with two whole pieces of dongpo pork. The mild broth was tasty, and having dongpo pork, ramen, mini gyoza, and Zero Coke together made it feel like a proper meal! I also liked the atmosphere for solo dining.
On days when you think, “I need a substantial meal today!” the double set is great, but normally I think the regular set would be more than enough~!~! If I crave ramen again after another movie at Yongsan CGV, I would revisit! Next time, though, I plan to try the spicy broth that I agonized over and passed up this time ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
