How close is Moa Gangnam to Gangnam Station Exit 11?

Moa Gangnam sits just a short walk up the alley from Exit 11 of Gangnam Station, so the accessibility was really excellent. Usually when I'm hunting for restaurants near Gangnam Station, I end up exhausted from walking far from the station, but here I could get there in no time on foot — perfect for setting as a meeting spot.

Inside Moa Gangnam: wood-toned interior and seating

Walking inside, the space was quite a bit bigger and more pleasant than I'd expected!! With warm, calm lighting throughout on a wood-toned base, it felt more like an atmospheric dining restaurant than a typical Korean restaurant, haha.

The tables were spaced generously and the overall mood was quiet, so it's a great fit for hanging out with friends, a Gangnam Station date course, or a pre-wedding gathering 🩵

I'll leave a review of Moa, a Gangnam Station restaurant I visited while looking for a fusion Korean spot near Gangnam Station with a great atmosphere and something a bit different!

Moa Gangnam dining hall seating under calm lighting

It's close to the station and the atmosphere is calm yet warm with wood tones, so it would be perfect for a date or a friends' get-together near Gangnam Station ☺️

You can also join the Catch Table waitlist, and the clean dining vibe put me in a good mood the moment I walked in, haha. Let me give an honest review of the three signature dishes we ordered this time ✨

1. Grilled pork jowl with chamnamul greens and chimichurri, 26,900 won

Moa Gangnam's grilled hangjeongsal with wild greens and chimichurri is ₩26,900 — a main dish of golden-brown grilled pork jowl served with wild greens (chamnamul) and chimichurri sauce. It was great for sharing at the center of the table with several people.

The pork jowl was grilled to a nicely browned, chewy finish, paired with fresh, fragrant wild greens and a tangy, sharp chimichurri sauce 🩷

Pork jowl can get heavy or greasy if you eat too much, but the slightly bitter, fragrant wild greens and sauce cut through the richness of the meat completely!!!

The savory, chewy texture of the meat balanced nicely with the clean finish of the wild greens, making it a great main dish to share at the center of the table with a group. And spooning some of the perilla oil pasta sauce over the pork jowl cuts the richness and tastes amazing 😋✨🧡

2. Perilla oil pasta with salted seafood, 15,800 won

The perilla oil pasta is ₩15,800, and it was by far the most memorable and special dish among everything we had at Moa Gangnam that day. For my taste, this perilla oil pasta was the best 🥰

Moa Gangnam's perilla oil pasta with salted seafood

Honestly, just hearing the name, I wondered whether perilla oil, salted seafood (jeotgal), and pasta noodles would actually go together! But the moment I took a bite, the nutty perilla oil aroma filled my mouth and blended perfectly with the salty umami of the jeotgal.

Mixing in the generous pile of perilla leaves on top made it incredibly fragrant. Above all, this was a truly special flavor you can't easily find anywhere else 💛

Instead of a heavy cream or tomato-sauce style, it has just a touch of spiciness added, so it stays light and never gets tiring even to the last bite. It's the kind of universal, umami-packed flavor that any Korean, regardless of age or gender, would like without hesitation — highly recommend 👍

3. Vongole kalguksu, 14,800 won

Vongole kalguksu is ₩14,800, a noodle-in-broth dish at Moa Gangnam that uses plump kalguksu noodles instead of pasta. I chose this vongole kalguksu because I wanted something filling with both broth and noodles.

Vongole kalguksu loaded with clams

I took a spoonful of the broth first, and thanks to the generous amount of clams, the broth was really refreshing and deep, yet clean and light!!!

Broth and clams in the vongole kalguksu

It kept the feel of a Western-style vongole while uniquely using plump kalguksu noodles instead of regular pasta noodles. The clam broth's seasoning soaked deep into the noodles, so they didn't taste separate from the broth and felt just right in the mouth.

Who is this three-dish combination at Moa Gangnam for?

Thanks to the light, refreshing broth that settles your stomach, this dish balanced really well alongside the perilla oil pasta and hangjeongsal mentioned earlier. With its calm atmosphere and great accessibility, I'd strongly recommend this to anyone near Gangnam Station wanting a refined Korean dining experience, or anyone deciding on a spot for a date or a gathering!

I'm already planning to come back soon to try more of their other fusion dishes 🥺🤍
