Old Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Mokhyeon Ibaejae Branch is at 374 Ibaejae-ro, 1F, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, across from Ibaejae Jikhwa Ssambap, with parking supported right in front of the store. It's open daily from 08:10 to 21:00, and takes groups, offers takeout, and has baby chairs too.

I was craving #sundaeguk for a Sunday brunch and rushed over to #oldgyeongseongsundaeguk. This was my first time at the Mokhyeon Ibaejae branch — I'd had such a satisfying meal at the Opo branch before that I decided to try the one closer to home! It's not far by car from Seongnam either, so it's a great option for Seongnam locals too!

The dining hall at Old Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Mokhyeon Ibaejae Branch is quite spacious, and there were a lot of families there! With parking available, it seems like a great place to stop for a meal while out for a weekend drive around Ibaejae!!

With the holiday coming up soon, this feels like a place you could bring the family for a great, budget-friendly meal and good time! I'd definitely recommend #oldgyeongseongsundaeguk for a family outing.

Side dishes you refill yourself at the self-serve bar

The basic side dishes are kimchi, garlic pickles, diced radish kimchi, onion, and ssamjang! And if you need more, you can just grab extra from the self-serve bar!!! (Perfect for introverts, am I right?)

The onions here are seriously sweet like apples, and the kimchi was so good too — it really made me think they use quality ingredients here!

What comes with the sundae-guk set

Everything we ordered arrived! Both the #sundaeguk and #spicyporkgukbap were upgraded to sets, so rice sausage and pork slices came along too!! A proper full spread! Just looking at it, you'd guess this place is legit.

Spicy pork gukbap: the pick for a hangover

I want to strongly recommend the spicy version here as a hangover cure!!!! Loaded with meat, and the hot, spicy, tangy broth really clears your head,, ahh~~ the kind of dish that makes you say it's so refreshing, definitely ordering this again next time! Ah, good thing I drank last night, right?

Sundae-guk: clean, deep, classic flavor

But the classic is a classic for a reason — this sundae-guk is clean, refreshing, and rich,, and because it's so clean you could drink it endlessly,, goes perfectly with the kimchi too,, the kind of taste older folks will definitely love, plus it's packed with big chunks of sundae (blood sausage) and head meat,,,, I want to strongly recommend this one too!!!

The pork slices and glutinous sundae in the set

Here's the #porkslices #ricesausage that comes with the set — pretty solid portion, right? This is literally three thousand won worth of happiness~ isn't this insane value~~~!!

Fresh and hot, dipped in a bit of salt — the taste that makes you crave a shot of soju for the hangover! Upgrading to the set is definitely worth it, so make sure you order the set!!!!

How big are the portions at Old Gyeongseong Sundaeguk?

I want to mention the portions one more time — the soup bowls and rice bowls here are a completely different size from a typical gukbap place,, definitely recommend for guys with a big appetite!!!

Both my husband and I were super satisfied with #oldgyeongseongsundaeguk mokhyeonibaejaebranch. The strengths of this place are that the portions are much bigger than other sundae-guk spots, the store is clean, and the staff are so friendly,, the clean and refreshing flavor makes it great for both curing a hangover and having a hearty meal!!

Plus, there's plenty of seating and baby chairs too, so it's perfect for a family visit, right? You should all come try the sundae-guk and spicy pork gukbap too! Totally recommend it :)
