One menu you can't skip on a Jeju trip is black pork :) On this trip too, we went to Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch with the kids to eat black pork. When traveling with kids, taste matters, but so does easy parking, a spacious store, and whether there's something the kids can eat too. Visiting in person, from the wide parking area to the roomy interior, it turned out to be a good spot for a family meal out 😊 Especially since you can order black pork kimchi jjigae and bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) alongside the pork belly, it's worth checking out if you're looking for a Jungmun black pork restaurant for a hearty meal in Jeju~!

We visited Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch in the evening. There's quite a wide parking area in front of the store, which was convenient for our family trip in Jeju since we came by car :) At the entrance, a big sign that says 'Oreumak' caught the eye easily even at night. Once inside, the tables were spaced fairly comfortably apart, and there was a separate section further inside with more tables. It looked good for groups or family meals! When visiting with kids like us, a spacious place like this is much more comfortable than a cramped, crowded restaurant~! At the counter, we also spotted 2024, 2025, and 2026 red ribbons on display ❤️

A Jungmun black pork restaurant with an aging fridge you can see

On one side of Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch, there's a large aging room where you can watch the black pork aging process yourself. The restaurant explains both dry aging and wet aging methods in store.

Dry aging explanation and meat inside the aging room

What stood out most on one side of the store was the big aging room. Oreumak Garden explains their meat aging process — dry aging keeps the meat at a set temperature, humidity, and ventilation for dry-style aging, while wet aging is a wet-style method where the meat is vacuum-sealed and aged at a set temperature. Seeing the meat right there in the aging room made it easy to check at a glance how the black pork we'd be eating is handled :) When looking for a Jungmun black pork restaurant, a lot of people care about the aging method and the meat's actual flavor, so it was interesting to be able to check this for ourselves in store!

What one family ordered: black pork belly for two, kimchi jjigae and bibim naengmyeon

What our family ordered at Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch was three things: black pork belly for two, black pork kimchi jjigae, and bibim naengmyeon. Complimentary side dishes like lettuce, scallions, garlic, ssamjang, kimchi, and namul came alongside, making for a hearty spread.

This time at Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch, our family picked black pork belly for two + black pork kimchi jjigae + bibim naengmyeon! Along with the meat, several side dishes like lettuce, scallions, garlic, ssamjang, kimchi, and namul were set out, making the table quite full. It was good for wrapping meat in lettuce, and also fun to try each side dish one by one. (The side dishes here were really tasty too!)

Thick-cut black pork belly for two

The main order, black pork belly, looked noticeably thick even before cooking. Grilled golden brown on the grill plate, the outside was savory while the inside kept its juices, and the fat and lean meat typical of pork belly worked together for good chewiness! Cut into bite-sized pieces, grilled thoroughly, and eaten wrapped with lettuce or dipped in garlic and ssamjang, my hand kept reaching for more~! It was exactly what our family wanted for a proper black pork meal during our Jeju trip 🧡 If you're looking for a Jungmun black pork restaurant, the pork belly is hard to skip as the main dish~!

Black pork kimchi jjigae

The black pork kimchi jjigae we ordered to go with the meat was satisfying too. Served bubbling hot, the broth was spicy and rich, good for a spoonful between bites of pork belly! (Seriously, order this one for sure 🧡) With kimchi and black pork in it, it also went well with rice, and it was a great pairing to have alongside the meat whenever we wanted some broth! A bite of pork belly, a spoonful of kimchi jjigae — a combination familiar to Koreans, as always~!

Spicy, tangy bibim naengmyeon to finish

After eating our fill of meat, we also had the bibim naengmyeon. It came topped generously with red seasoning, along with cucumber and egg! Mixing the noodles and seasoning together thoroughly gave a spicy-tangy taste that felt refreshing :) Especially pairing it with the fattier pork belly, the combination worked really well! If eating just black pork feels a bit lacking, I'd recommend ordering the kimchi jjigae and bibim naengmyeon together for more variety~!

Visiting with kids: the free steamed egg

Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch serves steamed egg as a complimentary side, which was great for visiting with kids. Soft and moist, paired with rice, the kids ate it well without any fuss.

What was especially welcome for us visiting with kids was the complimentary steamed egg 🧡 It was soft and moist, so the kids could eat it without any trouble, and paired with rice it went down well. When you visit a black pork restaurant with kids, the adults enjoy the meat but sometimes there isn't much for the kids to eat, requiring a separate order — so having steamed egg included as standard was great! That's why Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch worked well when looking for a family meal spot with kids — the adults get to enjoy Jeju black pork while the kids have steamed egg and rice to eat~!
