Dwaegal Gongmyeong Soba, a new pork galbi restaurant in Dapsimni

Dwaegal Gongmyeong Soba Dapsimni Station Main Branch is a new Dapsimni pork BBQ restaurant that opened right next to the gym I go to. Did a new BBQ place seriously just open next to my gym?

My gym happened to be handing out ₩5,000 discount coupons for the new BBQ place, and I was already thinking, I have to go there no matter what,

and then right on cue, an unnie I hadn't seen in a while texted asking to meet up! Hahaha. So without hesitating I picked the newly opened Dwaegal Gongmyeong Dapsimni Station main branch as our meeting spot lol.

With the coupon ready to use and good meat waiting, I headed out excited!

When I got there, I found a good-sized parking area out front with room for about 4 cars! When you're hunting for Dapsimni restaurants, parking is often a headache, so having dedicated spots right there makes it easy for anyone driving in.

Windows wide open: charcoal grilling without the stinging smoke

Dwaegal Gongmyeong Soba Dapsimni Station Main Branch keeps its door and windows wide open, so it feels like grilling outdoors on the street. The weather's been nice and cool lately, right? They had the door and even the windows opened all the way, and stepping inside, it genuinely felt like eating at an open-air street grill!

Usually at BBQ places the smoke gets in your eyes and it feels stuffy, ugh. But here the doors were opened wide enough that ventilation was great and there was zero stuffiness, so the whole meal had that outdoor-grill vibe and it got me hyped lol.

Since it's a Dapsimni pork rib place that just opened, there were fun event signs everywhere from the entrance! They were running an event where writing a receipt review gets you a Lala Sweet ice bar or Bungeo Ssamanko ice cream lol.

The unnie with me is a total Lala Sweet addict who keeps her home freezer stocked with every flavor like a convenience store! The second she saw the ice cream event her eyes lit up and she went "I'm writing that review right now!" and typed it up excitedly lol.

What was even more touching was that the owner threw in a free skincare product too! It was a spot treatment for breakouts, and since I sometimes need something for when my skin acts up, the moment I got it I blurted out "Oh! This is exactly it!" lol. The owner's sense of hospitality is seriously amazing!

Marinated pork ribs and pork belly over strong charcoal heat

We ordered marinated pork ribs and pork belly. We ordered easily through the tabletop kiosk, going for the signature marinated pork ribs along with pork belly.

Looking around after sitting down, the interior seating was really spacious and varied. There were 2–4 person tables as well as proper group seating for company dinners or gatherings, so I thought it'd be a great spot for a work dinner or a Sindap Station meetup later!

A little later they filled the grill with charcoal, and the heat was genuinely great! The charcoal aroma soaked right into the meat and just the smell was insane, ugh.

The pork belly was savory with juices bursting out, and the marinated pork ribs had the seasoning soaked all the way through, with meat so tender it melted the second it hit my mouth lol.

The marinade wasn't overly sweet either, just the right amount of savory depth so it never got old and kept going down easy!

Eating meat with that proper charcoal smell naturally made me crave a cold beer lol.

There happened to be a sign about a ₩2,500 beer discount and my eyes went wide, but sadly the unnie with me doesn't drink, so I held back and just focused on eating meat, ugh lol.

I can't resist that ₩2,500 beer event, so I'm planning to drag drinking-friendly friends back to this Dapsimni Station restaurant before some weekend soon lol.

I kept refilling that garlic oil sauce and especially the sweet pumpkin, which was so sweet and delicious lol.

And the restroom is honestly the thing I care about most, and I'm kind of picky about it, when I go to a BBQ place.

At outdoor-street BBQ places in areas like Jongno, the vibe's great but the restrooms are often so grim and dirty it's uncomfortable to sit there long, ugh.

But Dwaegal Gongmyeong Dapsimni Station Main Branch has its own restroom set up inside the store, and it was completely new, clean, and well maintained!

Being able to eat comfortably without worrying about the restroom was honestly a huge plus!

Why I'd return to this Dapsimni and Sindap pork galbi spot

We ate until we were stuffed and headed home, and on the way the unnie texted saying the meat was so good today and let's go again soon lol.

At this rate it seems like it's only a matter of time before this becomes THE hot BBQ spot in Sindap/Dapsimni!

Thanks to the discount coupon I ate well, and with the free gift and dessert ice cream too, this was a totally satisfying visit!
