Beer pub in Isu, Seoul: half-frozen Summer Romance beer at Raymond
In short
Raymond Isu Branch is a pizza and craft beer pub one minute on foot from Isu Station in Dongjak, Seoul. The Summer Romance (9,000 won) arrives with its bottom half frozen, and following the owner's advice to drink the top first and pour the frozen bottom later gives two flavors from one glass; the table also included a blueberry sour ale (8,500 won), cheese and pepperoni slice pizzas, and boneless old-style seasoned fried chicken (22,900 won). That chicken, crisp outside and juicy inside under a sweet-and-salty glaze, was the top pick of the day at Raymond Isu Branch.

How long is the walk from Isu Station to Raymond?
Raymond Isu is just a 1-minute walk from Isu Station! It's right on the main road, so accessibility was great haha.
What Raymond Isu Branch looks like inside and out

The outside has this red neon sign that gives off strong pizzeria vibes haha.

Here's the menu! The pizza lineup is really varied, isn't it haha. The beer selection is also super diverse, so it looked great for enjoying pizza and beer however you like!

This is the interior — lots of tables with decent spacing, looked good for a date!

From another angle, it looks like this.
What we ordered at Raymond Isu Branch
Raymond Isu has such a wide beer lineup, and among them the blueberry sour ale??? Looked so unique, and the flavor description sounded impossible to pass up, so I ordered it haha.
A beer with the sweetness of peach and the tangy-sweetness of passion fruit? Couldn't resist, ordered it right away haha. Beers with peach and passion fruit aroma aren't common, so I was so curious ❤️

There were also tons of pizza options, and pepperoni pizza seemed to be the bestseller, so I ordered that too!

Here's what we ordered!
- Summer Romance (₩9,000)
- Cheese pizza (slice) (₩6,500)
- Pepperoni pizza (slice) (₩7,800)
- Boneless old-style seasoned fried chicken (₩22,900)
- Blueberry sour ale (₩8,500)
Summer Romance (9,000 won): drink the top first, pour the frozen bottom later

The Summer Romance came out first! The owner said the bottom half was frozen, so I should pour and drink the top part first, then pour the bottom part later haha.

Following the owner's advice, I could really taste the difference between the top and bottom! The bottom part was more tart and concentrated. It was so nice getting two new flavors out of one beer haha.
Blueberry sour ale (8,500 won): how it tastes

Next up, the blueberry sour ale! Isn't the color gorgeous, so pretty haha. The refreshing acidity, the subtle sweetness of blueberry, and the light carbonation all came together so nicely haha.
Boneless old-style seasoned fried chicken (22,900 won): the day's top pick

This is my top pick of the day ❤️ If you visit Raymond Isu Branch, I definitely recommend ordering the boneless seasoned chicken! Turns out this place is a chicken spot too haha.

Crispy outside, juicy inside, done exactly right, and the sauce had the perfect sweet-and-salty balance with insane umami... I kept reaching for it as a beer snack haha 👍

I liked that there wasn't much fat inside!
Pepperoni slice pizza (7,800 won) and cheese slice pizza (6,500 won)

They served the two pizza slices stuck together like this haha. The pepperoni pizza had salty, rich pepperoni flavor paired well with savory cheese. Every bite hit with that distinct pepperoni umami, backed up by soft cheese — perfect as a beer snack!

The cheese pizza had simple toppings, so you could really taste the nutty, clean flavor of the cheese. Eating it while warm, the cheese stretched beautifully and felt rich, and it wasn't too heavy, so I kept reaching for more ❤️
