Gwacheon hair salon for fall color correction: One & Only Hair

Wanting a new look for fall, I went to One & Only Hair in Gwacheon. My hair color had faded a lot lately, making it look messy overall and feel dry, so I visited because I wanted a toned-down, calmer color for the season! Fall really is the season for toning things down.

One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station (원앤온리헤어 과천청사역점) is said to be the place where Gwacheon hair nomads finally settle down. I had previously gotten a cut at another branch, so I came in excited for this tone-down color.

It recently reopened in a new building in Gwacheon, so the facilities were neat and the access was so good! Just head down the stairs beside the building and you are right there—no need to wait for an elevator. And free parking, no less...!!! Both parking and walking over were easy, which felt incredibly convenient from the perspective of someone coming in for a service.

The weekday hours are generous too, which was great because I could come after work and still take my time with a longer service! The station and bus stop are also right nearby, making it super convenient.

One & Only Hair in particular uses Aujua products from MILBON, which is known for premium hair care, so even during shampooing the scent felt luxurious and there was no unpleasant lingering smell after coloring. Even though my hair was colored, it also felt noticeably softer, which made me even happier.

When you are getting your hair done, an hour is the bare minimum for us women, but the atmosphere was comfortable and did not tire my eyes. The shampoo room was also a private single-person room, which made it feel extra private.

I visited after work and was hungry, but they even brought me warm toast, which I happily devoured^^ It might be a toast hotspot...

Consultation for a red-free matte brown

We looked at color swatches and had a consultation based on my personal color and what I wanted, and I was recommended a matte brown without red tones that suited my overall vibe. They even considered how the color would look as it faded over time and how the roots would look once they grew out. Thanks to Manager Bom, who was so thorough from consultation through the service, I got exactly the shade I wanted.

I asked Senior Manager Bom to take a photo of the top of my faded hair too.. Root touch-ups are such a hassle, and the faded color was turning reddish—once again, a fall tone-down is the answer!

They carefully applied a scalp protectant before coloring, so I felt almost no scalp irritation during the service. I also did not notice the strong smell that is typical of hair dye, which made the whole experience really comfortable. They checked my scalp condition throughout, so although I had been worried about irritation, I was very satisfied.

What I loved most after the tone-down color was that my overall impression looked much cleaner and softer. I worried that toning it down would make me look too severe, but the matte brown and ash coloring were done so well that my previously patchy, faded hair was calmly brought together. It suited the fall mood beautifully and was much easier to style, too. I loved looking polished before Chuseok even more!
