The “washing my hair is too hard” condition and my short-bob decision

Ever since my wedding ended, I developed a condition... the “washing my hair is too hard” condition. Hahaha. Not just a regular bob craving—I got to the point of thinking, “I should just chop it into a short cut!” Washing it became so annoying and difficult(?) that I couldn’t stand even a tiny bit of length!!!!

(That emoji is weirdly perfect hahaha.) My hair before the salon visit: an awkward length. Awkward leftover curls. Dry, frizzy, slightly wavy hair. So, firmly determined to get either a short cut or a sharp bob (apparently short cuts are really hard to maintain..), I booked Tthe Art Hair Unjeong Station Branch (띠아트헤어 운정역점), a hair salon in Paju Unjeong.

The building has big signs, so it was easy to find haha. I entered through Tthe Art Hair’s dedicated entrance.

Once you walk in, an atmospheric space you wouldn’t have imagined just from the exterior(?) begins. Hahaha.

Isn’t it basically an aesthetic café..? A modern gray interior with green accents.

It even has floor-to-ceiling windows, so the openness is insane. The weather was seriously lovely that dayㅜ Taking a half day off work to come out felt totally worth it(?). I was feeling that freedom HARD,,

There’s also a very clean restroom inside.

Sorimsa, visible right from my seat. It was the place that caught my eye most while I was looking up good places to eat near Unjeong Station... Next time I return to Tthe Art Hair, I’m going to allow extra time and definitely try the ice cream salted bread.

And right next door was Starfield Village. I took a quick look on my way to Unjeong Station, and it was pleasant and nice~ Since it’s right in front of Starfield, Tthe Art Hair is a conveniently located Paju Unjeong hair salon too.

They prepared tea so beautifully 🫶🏻 And snacks too hahaha. Every single one was exactly my taste, but I held back for a delicious dinner.. 😭

And something I found kind of fascinating: this building is a parking garage, so it connects directly to the parking lot. Hahahahaha, isn’t that ridiculously convenient! But the space itself feels so different.. 🤣 Anyway, it seems like you can visit comfortably without worrying about parking or the weather.

I had booked a short cut plus volume straightening. In my mind, I was torn between a short cut and a sharp bob. But Designer Yungyeong immediately recommended the sharp bob, so we went with a short bob plus volume straightening. (I’m the type who listens to the expert,,)

Just cutting the length first already felt so refreshing. Okay! Now it begins~! After enduring about two hours of hardship..

Ta-da—🖤 The short bob and volume straightening are complete! What I loved most while getting my hair done by Designer Yungyeong was that her hands were seriously fast!!! My hair is suuuuper thick, so treatments usually take longer for me than for other people, but thanks to her unhesitating(?) handwork, we finished exactly at the expected time. Hahahahaha.

She also matched the style I wanted as closely as possible while finding a length and shape that suited me. This is the shortest haircut I’ve ever gotten at a salon. = I absolutely love it 🫶🏻 Up until now, when I asked salons to cut my hair into a bob or cut it short, I’d get answers along the lines of, “You can’t.” Butㅜ Designer Yungyeong worked with my request as much as possible hahaha, while finding a style that looked prettier on me. And thanks to her, I learned about my face shape for the first time.

She also kept the conversation on topics that were neither overly personal nor overly cautious, so I could spend the time comfortably! Thanks to her, my birthday makeover was a MAJOR. SUCCESS.
