Guro, Seoul bar for spicy seafood jjolzzajang, egg fried rice: Eulji

In short

Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch is a retro Eulji-ro style bar-restaurant a 3-minute walk from Guro Digital Complex Station Exit 2. Ordering spicy seafood jjolzzajang (chewy noodle black bean sauce), garlic egg fried rice, and two draft beers with a friend delivered a generous helping of shrimp, squid, and webfoot octopus over noodles that stayed chewy till the end. With DJ song requests and coin-operated claw machines and ice cream on top, it's a solid spot to cover both dinner and drinks in one visit in Guro.

Guro Digital Complex bar with a DJ and claw machines | Eulji Pocha

Lots of people these days are looking for somewhere in Guro Digital Complex to grab dinner and drinks in one go, right? That's exactly what I was after with a friend, and we ended up at Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch.

I thought it'd just be a regular pocha (street-style bar), but it turned out way more fun than expected! Retro Eulji-ro vibes, tasty food, and on top of that a DJ, song requests, a claw machine, and even ice cream — we properly enjoyed the bar atmosphere haha.

3 minutes from Guro Digital Complex Station, location and hours

📍 Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch is about a 3-minute walk from Guro Digital Complex Station Exit 2, so it was easy to find. It's also close to Exit 3, so it seemed like a convenient spot for office workers in Guro to stop by after work.

There's G Valley, Lotte Cinema, and NC Department Store nearby too, so it's a good location to plan a meetup in Guro Digital Complex!

🚗 No parking available, so if you're driving you'll need to use a nearby paid parking lot.

⏰ Open daily from 17:00 to 6am, last order at 5am. Staying open till dawn is so on-brand for a Guro bar haha. You could do dinner, then drinks, then more drinks late into the night here.

A spacious spot that feels like an Eulji-ro alley the moment you walk in

🏮 The concept was clear the moment I stepped in. It genuinely felt like walking into a Eulji-ro alleyway pocha! But I was surprised the place was much bigger than I expected.

Even though it's indoors, it's decorated to feel like an outdoor alley pocha, so it was fun for photos too. The tables were spaced well and the space itself was big enough that it seemed fine for a group visit too.

It felt like a good vibe for drinking with a group of friends, and also fine for a casual dinner after work.

An actual DJ at this Guro DJ pocha — you can even request songs

🎧 And here's the part that surprised me the most! There's an actual DJ booth. At first I thought it was just for decor, but there really was a DJ playing music haha.

On top of that, you can request songs! Eating tasty side dishes while listening to songs you actually like really lifts the mood. This place fits better if you want to have a lively night out with friends rather than just quietly drinking.

So I'd think of this less as just a Guro bar and more as a Guro Digital Complex DJ pocha!

How the coins work and what you can do with them

🪙 Another fun part of Eulji Pocha is the coin system. You get coins based on how much you order:

  • 1 coin for a drink or a side dish under ₩10,000
  • 2 coins for a side dish in the ₩20,000s
  • 3 coins for a side dish in the ₩30,000s

We used our coins to try the claw machine and get some ice cream! A claw machine suddenly showing up at a bar was funny haha, little extras like this made it more fun than I expected.

And at the end we used our coins for ice cream as dessert 🍦 Getting dessert covered after drinking was surprisingly nice.

The menu is genuinely huge

🍜 Eulji Pocha has such a wide menu that it took a while just to read through it. The signature dishes alone include spicy seafood jjolzzajang, giant hot pot boiled pork soup, chicken feet soup, whelk noodle salad, fried seafood pancake, yuringi (crispy fried chicken with sweet-tangy sauce), cream udon, old-school pork cutlet, and more!

With everything from Korean dishes to bunsik (Korean street food) to full meals, having so many options is a real plus. This place would work well not just as a second-round drinking spot but also as a first-round dinner spot.

Spicy seafood jjolzzajang + garlic egg fried rice + 2 draft beers

🍤 The portions surprised me the moment the food arrived.

Table setup with spicy seafood jjolzzajang and 2 draft beers
A generous plate of spicy seafood jjolzzajang

Spicy seafood jjolzzajang doesn't use regular jjajangmyeon noodles — it uses jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles) instead, and it worked better than I expected. Because it's jjolmyeon, the noodles didn't get soggy even by the time we finished.

The flavor was mildly spicy with the rich sweetness of black bean sauce coming through, and above all, the seafood was really generous! Plump shrimp, squid, and webfoot octopus were all in there, so seafood lovers would be satisfied. The sauce was so good my chopsticks kept going back for more haha.

We also added garlic egg fried rice!

🍳 We also ordered garlic egg fried rice. It paired so well with the spicy seafood jjolzzajang sauce. Mixing the fried rice into the leftover seafood-jjajang sauce made the perfect drinking side dish. You really can't skip the carbs with a dish like this haha.

The portion was generous enough to share with a friend, and if you're visiting for dinner plus drinks, I'd recommend ordering a few different dishes to share rather than just one.

Cover round one and round two in Guro in a single visit

🍻 Overall, I really liked how varied the menu was at Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch.

Eating good food with drinks, listening to DJ music, and even playing the claw machine with coins haha — it really felt less like a place you just eat and leave, and more like a Guro bar where you can eat, play, and enjoy yourself.

The place being so spacious made it good for group visits too, and the table spacing was comfortable enough to sit for a while.

If you're looking for a bar near Guro Digital Complex Station

❤️ If you're looking for somewhere to cover both dinner and drinks in one go in Guro Digital Complex, I'd recommend Eulji Pocha!

The retro Eulji-ro style interior plus an actual DJ playing music, with song requests possible, made for a great atmosphere. On top of that, using coins for the claw machine and ice cream made it a genuinely fun place to visit with a friend!

Above all, the food was better than expected and the menu was varied enough to cover both a first-round dinner and second-round drinks in Guro. The spicy seafood jjolzzajang I had was especially recommended — generous seafood and noodles that stayed chewy to the end.

This is exactly the kind of place for when you want to grab good side dishes and drinks with friends after work and have a fun, lively night :)
