Guro, Seoul bar for spicy tteokbokki and French toast: Eulji Pocha
In short
Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch is a retro-style bar in Guro, Seoul. I had spicy tteokbokki, yukhoe and French toast with melted sugar while requesting songs and playing coin games. Verdict: I absolutely want to return for the music, tteokbokki and egg toast.

A retro bar with great music near Guro Digital Complex Station
Since moving, I hardly ever have reason to go to Guro Digital Complex. The occasional reason I do go is... Eulji Pocha!! It is seriously, seriously, seriously my favorite bar.
It is a huge bar in Kkakkal Alley, so it is easy to find, too.

“It would be really nice if I were on TV~~^^” I sang to myself as I walked in.

The inside is decorated in a retro style. It is super spacious, and the atmosphere is so good. I wanted to capture it all in photos, but there were way too many customers ㅜ

Most of all, the music here is so good. How good, you ask? Better than Yeongdeungpo Byeolbam... maybe even better than Gudi Byeolbam. The DJ at Yeongdeungpo Byeolbam should come here to train.

Dalgona and ice cream with coins
Once you finish ordering, they give you coins. They are kind of Eulji Pocha's own currency.
- ₩20,000–₩30,000 anju: 3 coins
- ₩10,000–₩20,000 anju: 2 coins
- Alcohol or anju under ₩10,000: 1 coin
- Upload an Instagram Story: 2 coins
- Write a review: 4 coins

One coin gets you cotton candy, dalgona (Korean honeycomb candy), snacks, or a claw-machine try; two coins can be exchanged for ice cream; and four coins get you Eulji four-cut photos. You can also use coins toward menu payment at a value of ₩500 each, but you cannot partially pay for a menu item! (You cannot simply deduct the coins from an anju price.)
So I used my pile of coins to take money off the drinks, then brought the remaining coins home ㅇㅅㅇ I can use them next time I go~!

This is the dalgona-making area. Sit nearby and wow, that dalgona smell~!

The cotton-candy machine is right next to the dalgona station, too. It is really easy to make, so go make one properly haha.

There are so many kinds of ice cream, including Bibibig, Candy Bar, Watermelon Bar, Walnut Maru and Megaton!!
Spicy tteokbokki, yukhoe and French toast
The drinking-and-dancing girls get properly going. Two bottles of soju plus Zero Cola are ₩11,000, okay? Order that and mix one part soju with one part cola—it is so good. One bottle of soju disappears with the very first glass~!

Spicy tteokbokki ₩13,000. This insanely good tteokbokki is bursting with black-pepper and curry flavor. When you are drinking late at night, you crave carbs, you know. I truly, truly recommend this menu item...

I recommend the yukhoe, too!! It has peanuts and scallions in it, and they are such a magical touch... Since this is a bar rather than a yukhoe/yuksashimi specialty restaurant, I ordered without expectations, but it was much more delicious than I thought.

They take song requests even if you do not have a story you want to share~! They put them on right away. Eulji Pocha's songs are so exciting.

What about the French toast soaked with melted sugar?
Wow!!!!! This French toast was incredible. Looking at the photo now, I realize there was sugar sprinkled all over it, but while eating, all the sugar had melted in. Seriously sooo delicious. No wonder it was so delicious and made me so happy haha—such is the power of sugar~

It was so good I took another photo ㄷㄷ haha. It was so good that I actually searched to see whether any bars near my home sell it. And I am not even much of a bread person......... It made me wonder if not liking bread had just been my whole concept........ I had an identity crisis about my taste buds, honestly... It was insanely delicious. Strong recommendation, huge recommendation. I will go again for the music~ the tteokbokki~ and the egg toast~.
