I had about an hour to spare at Jamsil Station on a weekend morning, so I looked for somewhere I could enjoy brunch at a leisurely pace.

It is a neighborhood I occasionally visit anyway, and I had only kept an eye on this place after seeing so many office workers come by on weekdays. I thought it might be relatively quiet on the weekend, so I visited Town Sandwich, a popular sandwich spot in Jamsil.

When I walked in, it was quieter than I expected, and I thought it would be nice for a relaxed meal.

But as I sat there, delivery drivers kept coming in. Oh—I thought I must have found a good spot, so my expectations went up, haha. It seems they get quite a few delivery orders as well as dine-in customers.

Town Sandwich has a wide variety of sandwiches. They also offer soup and coffee that pair well with them, so it looked like a great place for a simple breakfast or weekend brunch.

That day, I ordered the Apple Jambon Sandwich, the Town Sandwich, and an Americano.

The Apple Jambon Sandwich comes with jambon ham, butter, and stewed apples with cinnamon. The combination of savory jambon ham and nutty butter with sweet apples was really good.

The stewed apples had a subtle cinnamon aroma, so they were sweet with a warm fragrance. The apple sweetness gently balanced the salty jambon ham, and the pairing was more harmonious than I expected.

With the nutty, smooth flavor of butter added in, it was not simply a sweet sandwich—it let you enjoy savory and sweet flavors together.

It was generously filled, so it looked appetizing at a glance. The nutty, salty ham and cheese with crisp lettuce and tomato made it feel very fresh.

It was not heavy or greasy, and the fresh vegetables made it easy to eat cleanly.

The appeal of soft baguette-style bread

Both sandwiches used baguette-style bread. Rather than the hard, chewy texture of a typical baguette, this bread was soft and easy to eat. It even reminded me a little of the bread used for bánh mì sandwiches. With plenty of toppings inside the soft bread, the bread and fillings came together nicely instead of feeling separate.

I wondered whether we should have ordered only one for two people, but…

The sandwiches were quite large, so at first I wondered if we should have ordered just one between the two of us. But what was I thinking? Haha. As we ate, the soft bread and well-balanced toppings were so delicious that we finished them before we knew it. They looked like a lot at first, but… haha.

The Apple Jambon Sandwich had a lovely sweet, nutty combination, while the Town Sandwich was appealing for its fresh flavor. Since the two had different styles, they were also great to order together and share.

A nutty-bean Americano

We ordered only one Americano for the two of us, but the owner put in two straws, one on each side. Oh—what thoughtful service! Haha.

The coffee seemed to use nutty beans, and as I drank it, I could also taste a subtle note like sweet roasted pumpkin sweet potato. It paired well with the sandwiches, and the coffee itself was better than expected. I think it is definitely worth having coffee alongside a Jamsil sandwich.
