Why I chose an ivory one-color gel pedicure at Naeil Didi in Apgujeong Rodeo
I got an ivory one-color gel pedicure at Naeil Didi, a nail salon in Apgujeong Rodeo. When you wear sandals or slides a lot, your toes end up being something you're weirdly conscious of.
Bold summer pedicures are pretty too, but this time I wanted a color that wouldn't get old and would go with any shoe, so I headed to Naeil Didi.

What I chose was the ivory one-color gel pedicure!

Since it's a design with just one color and no art, the basic care and color payoff mattered even more — and in the end it came out exactly as clean as I'd hoped, so I was happy.

A good spot for a pedicure in Apgujeong Rodeo: Naeil Didi
Where Naeil Didi is and what the 6th-floor salon is like
Naeil Didi is on the 6th floor at 18 Apgujeong-ro 50-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

It's within walking distance of Apgujeong Rodeo Station, so it's easy to fit into a day when you already have plans around Apgujeong or Dosan Park. The salon was bigger than I expected, with large windows that kept the whole space bright and airy.

The nail area and pedicure area are separated, and the pedicure seats are plush and comfortable to lean back in, so sitting for about an hour wasn't uncomfortable at all.

With one color, the basic toenail and cuticle care matters most
At Naeil Didi, the pedicure didn't start with gel straight away — it began with shaping the nail length and outline first.

The cuticles and the lines around each nail were cleaned up one by one, and even before any color went on, my toes already looked so much neater. Personally, I think this basic prep decides the result as much as the color does, and I appreciated how carefully they worked on even the smallest toenails.

Ivory one-color: the shade that works with any sandal
There were so many samples that I was a little torn at first. In the end I picked a soft ivory that wasn't too yellow-toned.
Compared to pure white it felt calmer, and compared to beige it made my toes look brighter — it suited my skin tone naturally. Best of all, being a one-color, it didn't clash with sandal colors much. It worked with basic sandal colors like black, brown, and silver, and even with denim or dresses it just quietly tidied up my toes!

Bold nail art is pretty, but if you tend to get tired of it fast, this kind of ivory gel pedicure actually feels more versatile.
How clean the ivory color looked up close
When applying the color, they painted thin, even coats along the line from my big toe down to the smallest toenail. With a one-color look, even the slightest unevenness shows, but the edges were finished so cleanly that it still looked polished up close.
With the top gel finish, it wasn't an overly glossy shine but a clean, subtle sheen — which I liked even more.
After the pedicure, looking at both feet together, they looked so much neater than bare feet, and the ivory color made my toes look brighter overall. Even with just one color and no art, it ended up looking prettier for being simple.
Recommended if you like a simple pedicure
Who should book the ivory gel pedicure at Naeil Didi
If you want a clean gel pedicure in Apgujeong Rodeo, or you're looking for a versatile, pretty color for a wedding, vacation, or summer sandals, I'd recommend the ivory one-color. If you're like me and prefer a style you won't get tired of over flashy designs, you'll likely be especially happy with this one.
Naeil Didi worked carefully through everything from basic care to the color finish, so this pedicure was a comfortable experience overall. These days I catch myself glancing at my toes every time I put on sandals :) Next time I might match my fingernails to a similar ivory tone.
