A few days ago, after donating blood with a friend, I really wanted something hearty for dinner — meat! So while thinking about what to eat, I ended up at Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae Main Branch, where you can enjoy beef rib meat (galbisal) and beef brisket (chadolbagi) together. The 450g set with both cuts was ₩57,900, and it even came with a free doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), which made it a solid value option for two people to enjoy beef together. Overall I was pretty satisfied, so let me introduce it.
Where is Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae Main Branch, and where do you park?
Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae Main Branch is located on the 1st floor of 12-9 Yeonseo-ro 27-gil, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. It's about 280m from Yeonsinnae Station Exit 6, so it was convenient to reach by subway.

It's tucked inside an alley, so if it's your first visit, following Naver Map is probably the most accurate way to find it. We walked from Yeonsinnae Station and it wasn't as far as I expected — we got there quickly.

There's no dedicated parking lot at the restaurant, so if you're driving, I'd recommend checking a nearby parking lot in advance.
Inside Golmokjip Galbisal: a retro alley grill house

The moment we walked into Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae Main Branch, what caught my eye first was the retro vibe — quite different from the clean, newly opened grill restaurants you see these days.

Old posters and ads covered the walls, plus signage and colorful lighting that gave it the feel of an old-school neighborhood BBQ joint. Corners of the restaurant were styled like an old alley eatery or a stationery shop, so it was fun just to look around.

Every table had its own ventilation system, and overall it had a casual atmosphere that made it easy to grill meat comfortably.

Even though we visited on a weekday evening, there were already quite a lot of diners. Some were friends out for meat, others were having a casual drink — a nice range of people, which made it feel like a comfortable spot for dinner in Yeonsinnae. Hours are 16:00–23:00, and if you're planning to visit around Chuseok holidays, be sure to double-check the holiday schedule or hours!
What comes on the 450g combo platter, and what it costs
What we ordered was the 450g set that comes with both beef rib meat and beef brisket. The price was ₩57,900! It included 250g of galbisal plus chadolbagi, and I liked that we could alternate between two cuts of beef instead of sticking to just one.

According to the signage in the restaurant, the galbisal at Golmokjip Yeonsinnae uses US prime grade or higher and is trimmed in-house. The moment the meat arrived, the wooden tray was completely full — it looked quite generous.

On one side sat thickly trimmed galbisal, and on the other, neatly rolled chadolbagi. For the two of us, it was nice not to have to order the two cuts separately — being able to enjoy them together on one platter felt like a good setup.
How do the chadolbagi and galbisal taste off the grill?

They put the chadolbagi on the grill first. It's sliced thin, so it cooks quickly on the grill — no waiting around, straight to eating.

For the first bite of chadolbagi, I dipped it lightly in salt. The savory fattiness paired with the salt made the flavor of the meat itself come through more clearly.

It was also delicious with pickled perilla leaves and wasabi! The salty, tangy pickled perilla leaves cut through the richness, and the sharpness of the wasabi made it even cleaner to eat.

After the chadolbagi, we slowly grilled the galbisal too. The thick galbisal and the thin, tender chadolbagi had completely different textures, which made switching back and forth between them fun.

Another advantage of the set menu: you don't get tired of it the way you might sticking to just one cut the whole time.

The side dishes included lettuce, chili peppers, kimchi, perilla leaves, and garlic, along with ssamjang (dipping paste), salt, and sauce, so you could mix and match to your taste. If you're looking for a great BBQ spot in Yeonsinnae and want to try several cuts of beef at once, this kind of platter set-up would suit you well.
One free doenjang stew, or swap it for doenjang sulbap
And here's another reason I found the value pretty good: ordering the set gets you a free doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), and if you'd rather have doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice), just ask a staff member. After eating a good amount of meat, you start craving something hot and spicy in broth form, and since the stew came without needing to add it on, it made for a hearty finish.

The doenjang sulbap arrived bubbling away, and it was great to eat in between bites of meat — it also cut through the richness nicely. Since it comes with rice mixed in, it's worth ordering if you want a slightly more filling finish.
The small touches: aprons, wipes and other table extras

After finishing our meal, I stopped by the restroom area and noticed a nice thoughtful touch. There was floss, mouthwash, and hair ties set out, along with hand cream. At a BBQ restaurant, you often end up self-conscious about your breath after eating, or need to tie back long hair — so having everything you might need in one spot felt like a small but convenient touch.
Is Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae worth it for two? Final verdict
I visited Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae Main Branch wanting a hearty dinner with a friend. Being able to enjoy 250g of galbisal and chadolbagi together on one platter made it easy to try both cuts evenly, and at ₩57,900 for 450g plus a free doenjang jjigae, the overall composition felt worthwhile for two people out for beef.
Above all, the place had a lively atmosphere even on a weekday evening, and the retro interior made it a great fit for casually grilling meat and having a drink with a friend. If you're looking for good-value Korean BBQ in Yeonsinnae or hunting for a solid meat restaurant in the area, Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae Main Branch is worth checking out :)
