Let me introduce Something About Coffee, a café near Sinnonhyeon Station! Every time I went to the Gangnam café street I meant to try it, but it was always packed full, so I never got the chance to go in.

Sunday at noon: walking floors 1 to 3 of Something About Coffee

I had an early Sunday lunch and arrived at Something About Coffee around noon. There were already quite a few customers trying to get in early.

The 1st floor has tables for 2 to 4 people set up. I went up the stairs to the main space on the 2nd floor. Here's the order counter on the 2nd floor.

The interior is mainly white, with window-side tables and larger tables suitable for group gatherings.

The dessert display area is really pretty, isn't it?

The second-floor terrace and third-floor vintage room

Open the door beside the counter and you'll find terrace seating. It was a bit humid so no one was sitting there, but it seems like a nice atmospheric spot for evenings.

Go up another flight of stairs and you reach the 3rd floor. It has a vintage vibe and terrace seating as well. If you're planning something like a wedding invitation gathering or a group meetup, you could confidently pick this café without a second thought. The only downside is that it's always crowded, so it's often hard to find a seat.

What is in the Something About Coffee dessert showcase?

Alongside coffee, there are non-coffee options too, like lattes, teas, and ades.

Matcha chocolate cream latte / black sesame cream latte / matcha cream cold brew. There are three cream lattes, so I had trouble deciding which to pick.

Something About Coffee is popular among bread lovers as a cheesecake spot. Their yellow cheese cake is famous, and I'd always been curious about it.

Black sesame cream latte, 7,800 won: how it tastes

Not many places serve a black sesame cream latte, so I was curious what it would taste like and ordered one.

A cup of black sesame cream latte topped with cream

The black sesame powder went down smoothly without any awkwardness, and the harmony between the thick cream and espresso was really good. It was tastier than I expected 🤎

It seems like a place that's also good at baked goods, since the lineup was solid. Had to try the lemon Earl Grey one, right? Crisp outside, chewy inside, and delicious with a tang of lemon added — a great financier.

I also tried the seasonal figs.

The bread sheet was moist and the fresh cream wasn't too sweet but soft, so I ended up scooping it all up happily 🍰

There's grapefruit syrup laid at the bottom, so drinking it with a straw meant you get to chew on the little bits — I liked that. It was sweet enough that my energy shot right up.

Is Something About Coffee near Sinnonhyeon Station worth a visit?

There's a reason this place has been loved for so long on the Sinnonhyeon Gangnam café street. Being a large café, it has plenty of space and seating, making it a great spot for anyone — solo visits, friends, dates, or group gatherings.

Both the drink and dessert menus were varied, so it was easy to pick according to your taste. If you're trying to decide on a café in Gangnam, I recommend Something About Coffee near Sinnonhyeon Station! Next time I'd like to pick a quieter time and go back just for the cheesecake.
