The place two pasta lovers visited was That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge, located at Ansan Jungang Station! It's run directly by a chef with 20 years of experience, including at high-end restaurants in Cheongdam-dong! Since there can be a wait on weekends, we made a Naver reservation ahead of time :)

What the building and entrance look like

That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge in Ansan Jungang-dong is about a 3–5 minute walk from Ansan Jungang Station! It's on the 6th floor of Dongwon Building, the Twosome Place building at Central Station!

Parking near That Man's in Jungang-dong

If you use the public parking lot in front of Dongwon Building, you can get 1 hour of free parking after registering your license plate at the restaurant! You can also use other designated lots in front of Geumsan Building, Jungang Heights Villa, Lotte Department Store, and Megabox. Also, using Lotte Cinema Central Lock parking gets you ₩2,000 support, so keep that in mind!

Inside the dining room and the 18-seat private room

The inside is a space where dim lighting and a calm mood come together! With lowered lighting and jazz and classical music, you can enjoy an atmospheric meal haha

It has a slightly more upscale feel than a typical casual pasta place, so it fits well for a special anniversary visit!

On top of that, there's a private room! The room can hold up to 18 people, and including the hall, group gatherings of up to 40 people are possible! It can be used for family meetings before marriage, family gatherings, company dinners, bridal showers, and more, and venue rental is also possible 💞

There's also a terrace outside, so it'd be nice to sit outside on a nice day!

Since we had reserved ahead, they had set the table nicely — even the water glasses weren't ordinary ones, but proper glasses haha

The menu and how to order at That Man's

Ordering is done via tablet. You can check the menu on the tablet too~ That Man's Italian Restaurant offers a variety of Italian dishes from pasta to risotto to steak! They use Australian AA9+ wagyu, lamb rack from lamb under 12 months old, and seafood shipped directly from various regions in Korea — the careful attention to ingredient selection left a strong impression!

Besides à la carte items, there's also a signature main course made up of a welcome drink, bread, salad, soup, pasta, steak, dessert, and coffee!

For the lamb rack steak, you can choose the doneness, so we asked for medium rare haha

Once you order, they bring out pre-meal bread first~ The bread alone was already so good haha

The soup of the day (potato soup) came out first! You could really feel the fluffy potato texture, and at the same time it was soft and pleasantly salty and delicious — perfect as an appetizer before the main meal!!! 🥔

The oil pasta and lamb rack steak make their appearance -!

How does the scallop anchovy oil pasta taste?

Next is the scallop anchovy oil pasta! It was my first time ever having anchovy pasta haha Anchovy is an ingredient made from salt-cured anchovies, and it added deep umami flavor to the oil pasta~

The scallops were also so delicious haha

Medium-rare lamb rack steak: is it gamey?

Next is the lamb rack steak~ Being medium rare, the slight pink showing looked so delicious. At That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge, they said they use lamb rack from lamb under 12 months old — no wonder the meat was tender and soft.. 💖

Lamb can sometimes be tough or have a strong smell that people either love or hate, but there was none of that at all and we ate it very happily! Maybe because it was ordered medium rare, the inside wasn't overcooked, so it was moist and felt tender with every bite — so delicious!ㅎㅎㅎ💞

Mint jelly and pickles with the lamb

They served mint jelly along with the lamb rack, which is apparently traditionally served with British-style lamb dishes~ The refreshing scent and sweet taste of mint cut through the rich flavor of the lamb in a fresh way, giving it a unique feel haha

The pickles served in between were also yum~! Whether they were homemade or not, even the pickles were delicious

We're told we cleaned our plates completely that evening... ⭐💫

Would I book That Man's again? Final verdict

An atmospheric dinner at That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge after a long time! I don't usually eat lamb rack often, but after trying it this time, I'd want to order it again next time. It's easily accessible near Ansan Jungang Station, and since Naver reservations are possible, it's a great place to book ahead for a date or anniversary! They said kids are welcome too as a yes-kids-zone, so I'd also recommend it as a family dining spot~!
