Magoknaru coffee shop with weekday americano discount: Pict Roastery

While looking for a café with proper coffee in Magoknaru, I revisited a place I'd been to last year ☕ 📍 Pict Roastery Magok Branch. I was genuinely so satisfied with this café that I went back for another visit!

They roast their own beans in-store, so it's worth checking out if you love coffee haha. It's also great for enjoying dessert alongside your coffee, so I spent a relaxed amount of time there! Especially since there's an americano discount during weekday lunch hours, which seemed good for Magok office workers too. Let me show you how my visit went :)

What is the café like inside?

Pict Roastery is a roastery café located near Magoknaru! Walking in, the interior is mostly black tones, giving it a really clean and calm atmosphere 🖤

Above all, one side has a huge floor-to-ceiling window, so it doesn't feel as stuffy as you'd expect haha (even though it's a view of the building across the street..!). Sitting by the window and looking outside while drinking coffee — personally, I loved the window seats. There were also people working alone on their laptops, so it seemed like a good spot in Magoknaru to have coffee alone or take a short break!

Beans roasted in-store every day

What caught my eye most at Pict Roastery was, of course, the coffee! They said they use beans roasted daily by their own roaster. The americano isn't limited to a single bean either — you can choose from India, Guatemala, Ethiopia and more depending on your taste haha.

Americano is ₩4,900, café latte ₩5,500, cappuccino ₩6,000, vanilla bean latte ₩6,500 — quite a variety of coffee types. I loved having the bean options, since even if you visit together, each person can pick according to their own taste haha.

They also sell a roaster's selection drip coffee made with a new origin and profile every month, so if you're into beans, this could be worth trying too!

The coffee and the Kyoto matcha basque cheesecake

We ordered two iced americanos, one iced café latte, and the Kyoto matcha basque cheesecake 🍰 Last visit I had the pistachio tiramisu, which was genuinely delicious,, this time I went for something I hadn't tried <3

I ordered the coffee iced, and the cup was a stainless steel cup instead of a regular disposable one, which suited Pict Roastery's vibe well. Placing the coffee next to the matcha basque cheesecake made for a pretty nice visual too :)

You can tell the matcha color is intense just from the photo, right? 💚 The top has the deep baked color characteristic of basque cheesecake, and inside you can really see the green matcha color, which paired well with the coffee haha. The Kyoto matcha basque cheesecake is ₩7,500!

Besides that, there's aged French toast for ₩11,900 and pistachio tiramisu for ₩8,000 among the dessert menu, so it's set up nicely for enjoying dessert alongside coffee rather than just a simple drink.

How the one free coffee refill works

Also, Pict Roastery Magoknaru Branch offers one free coffee refill ‼️‼️ I haven't used the refill on either of my two visits,,, but it really does seem great if you're studying, reading, or planning to sit for a long time ㅠㅠ Where else do you get service like this,, 💚

Why this Magok coffee shop is worth a second visit

There are so many cafés in Magoknaru, but what stuck with me about Pict Roastery is that they use in-house roasted beans and even let you choose the beans to your taste. There's also a range of desserts, so it was nice to slowly enjoy them alongside coffee, and the atmosphere with the floor-to-ceiling window was comfortable enough to stay a long time haha.

Especially with the weekday 11am-2pm americano discount and the one-time americano refill for dine-in customers, if you're looking for somewhere to grab coffee after lunch near Magoknaru, keep this one in mind!
