What does Tomoru Bakery look like inside and out?
The exterior had that clean yet cozy neighborhood bakery feel. Through the glass wall, all the bread on display was visible at a glance, which made me stop mid-walk.

Opening the door, the whole store was filled with the smell of savory butter and freshly baked bread. It's not a huge space, but the layout was efficient enough that walking around with a tray to browse felt totally comfortable. The tidy showcases and clean display shelves also gave me confidence at a glance.

Tomoru Bakery's bread lineup and prices

The display case was packed with a really wide variety of breads. The signature basil tomato (₩5,800) stood out for its fragrant basil pesto and tomato combo, and the baked-not-fried fresh vegetable croquette (₩4,300) looked super tasty too.

Kkamang-i (₩5,800), a squid-ink dough bread with cream cheese and walnuts, and the Shanghai butter tteok (₩2,500) with its gentle buttery aroma also seemed popular.

The alligator bread (₩5,500) with its crisp pastry layers, the red bean bun (₩2,500) with crunchy walnuts, the pecan pie slice (₩6,000), the classic croissant (₩3,500), and the visually striking pollack roe scallion baguette (₩5,000) all made me want to fill my tray.

The unusual cucumber baguette (₩6,000), the chewy sweet pumpkin rice bread (₩5,700), the strawberry roll (₩26,000), rye bread (₩6,000), and the filling bagel sandwich (₩8,000) also caught my eye.

The soft white castella (₩5,000), 100% milk bread (₩4,800), salty salt bread (₩2,400), rye fig bread (₩5,700), and egg tart (₩3,500) rounded things out — perfectly targeting bread lovers' tastes haha.

The 5 breads ordered, from chestnut bread to Nagasaki castella
I filled my tray with the classic combos and meal-substitute items I usually go for. I ordered chestnut bread, sausage croissant, soboro bread, bagel sandwich, and nagasaki castella.

The bagel sandwich was packed edge to edge with fresh vegetables, ham, and cheese between squid-ink bagel halves, making it hearty enough for a full meal. The moment I split it in half, the cross-section looked so generous that every bite was a great chew. The chestnut bread kept a thin exterior and moist, chewy interior, generously studded with big, sweet whole chestnuts.

The sausage croissant had juicy sausage bursting inside crisp pastry layers, striking a good sweet-and-salty balance. The soboro bread had a thick, crunchy crumble on top with a strong, savory peanut butter flavor lingering throughout.

The nagasaki castella paired best with milk — it melted in my mouth the moment I took a bite, moist and soft, with a pleasant sweetness ♡.
