This time I visited Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch. When you're looking for a place to eat with your parents in Daegu, the menu matters, but so does finding somewhere with easy parking and a quiet atmosphere.

The parking area is fairly spacious, and the interior is entirely room-style, so it worked well for a family meal. It's a proper hanjeongsik (Korean set-course) restaurant, so you get a hearty meal with a lot of side dishes — a good fit for a parents' meal or a lunch outing.

Where do you park at Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch?

Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch has parking on the ground floor and on the 3rd and 4th floors of the building! It's a convenient spot to eat near Sinwolseong if you're coming by car.

What I liked most was how spacious the parking area is! Parking hassle is always a low-key worry when you're doing a family meal out or eating with parents in Daegu, so it was nice to not have to think about it here.

Are the private rooms good for family gatherings?

Instead of a typical open-floor dining room, the inside of Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch is divided into rooms, which made it easy to talk while eating. It looked like a good fit for families too.

For a parent's birthday dinner, Parents' Day in Dalseo-gu, a parent's 60th birthday celebration, or just a hanjeongsik meal with parents — this seems like a great choice for any family occasion!

There were so many service perks — for pregnant women / soldiers, police, firefighters / birthday guests / doctors and nurses / couples getting married. They even give you seasoned cockles as a free service — I wonder if the owner has any margin left, haha!

What comes with the 18,000 won mackerel pot rice set meal?

Today's order was the mackerel pot rice set meal at Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch.

The pot rice comes with grilled mackerel and a spread of side dishes, so it was quite a filling meal.

Trying each side dish one by one was fun too! When I go to a hanjeongsik restaurant, the main dish matters, but I personally also care a lot about how good the banchan (side dishes) are. Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch served a wide variety, so it was nice to mix and match while eating the pot rice and mackerel.

Today's main, the grilled mackerel, looked delicious just from the color alone!!

A piece of mackerel over white rice was genuinely delicious! Adding the tasty side dishes on top made it even better.

What's on the self-serve banchan bar?

It was even better that the side dishes were available at a self-serve bar! The japchae (glass noodle stir-fry) was so good I refilled it several times. It was tasty enough that I wanted to buy some of the banchan to take home.

Is Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch a good place to eat with parents?

The mackerel paired well with the rice, and overall the meal felt clean and light rather than heavily seasoned — good for a satisfying but not overwhelming meal.

Personally, Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch was really good as a place to eat with parents. Parking is easy, the room-style interior keeps the atmosphere quiet, and a menu like mackerel pot rice — rice and side dishes eaten together — suited a meal with parents well.
