By the time we'd chased the kids around Lotte World all day and our arms and legs were about to give out, we rushed here for some real nourishment. The underground parking lot was wide, so it was easy to use.

If you're in the Gijang area, Lotte Outlet Dongbusan, IKEA, and Haedong Yonggungsa Temple are all nearby too, so there are plenty of places to combine into one trip.

That day, we played at Lotte World, ate here, then headed on to IKEA. The restaurant is spacious and pretty clean, so it was comfortable to eat here with the kids, and each table had its own kiosk, which made ordering or asking for extra side dishes easy.

Kkomak Hansang Gijang Main Branch has water and a sofa in the waiting area, so we could sit comfortably while waiting. There was water to drink while waiting and a comfy sofa to sit on.

The spacing between tables was generous too, so we could eat as a family without feeling cramped.

The interior was spacious and tidy, and the natural light coming through the picture windows made for a bright, pleasant atmosphere.

How do the beef jeon cockle bibimbap and cockle vinegar salad taste?

The generous cockle bibimbap (rice bowl with cockles) comes with cockles, chives, shredded cabbage, seaweed flakes, sesame seeds and more, and the seasoning wasn't overpowering — the seasoning was well balanced, so it was delicious.

The distinctive cockle flavor wasn't overwhelming either, and mixing it with the rice, the chewy texture of the cockles and the fragrance of the chives went really well together.

The beef jeon (pan-fried beef pancake) that came with it was savory too, good to enjoy between bites of the cockle bibimbap.

Since there were several of us eating together, we ordered a variety of dishes to share — the cockle bibimbap was light and clean-tasting,

while the cockle vinegar salad had a tangy kick, so we got to enjoy two different flavors.

The clear seaweed soup the children finished

Honestly, when you go to a restaurant with kids, the adults' menu matters, but whether there's something the kids can eat is always a bit of a concern too.

The kids ate the miyeokguk (seaweed soup) really well. Maybe because they'd just played hard at Lotte World, but the moment the soup arrived, they practically inhaled it 😊 Gijang is famous for its seaweed too, and the clear, refreshing soup was good for the kids to eat with rice.

The basic side dishes were mild things like lotus root with black sesame and various namul (seasoned vegetables), not too spicy or strong, so it made for a good family-style spread.

Kkomak Hansang Gijang Main Branch was a good pick when looking for somewhere to eat around Lotte World Busan.
