Mayo garlic rice ball at Yajju Yajju, a Bucheon jjukkumi restaurant
In short
Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch is a spicy jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) restaurant near Chunui Station in Sinjung-dong, Bucheon, Gyeonggi. Two of us ordered the Yajju Jjuu set for two, which comes with premium jjukkumi and beef brisket, at spice level 1, then added the mayo garlic rice ball and ate it wrapped in perilla leaf and pickled radish with mayonnaise and flying fish roe. Level 1 was genuinely spicy but easy to finish, and the rice ball pairing alone is worth a return trip to Yajju Yajju.

Introducing Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch, a spicy octopus restaurant near Chunui Station in Sinjungdong, Bucheon!
Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch / Daily 10am to 2am / Last order midnight

Yajju Yajju: a jjukkumi restaurant near Chunui Station in Sinjung-dong, Bucheon
Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch is a spicy octopus specialist in Sinjungdong, Bucheon, winning people over with its fiery sauce and chewy texture! It's a great spot to search for when you want jjukkumi near Chunui Station, or a lunch place in Sinjungdong (they even have a lunch special). There are branches elsewhere too, but surely the main branch has its own charm? I've been stressed out lately and my appetite's been a bit low, so I really wanted something reliably delicious.
The moment I arrived, the cute octopus character and bright yellow sign immediately caught my eye! The banner at the entrance said it's ranked No. 1 on Baemin's restaurant rankings with a 5.0 rating. Plus, there's a takeout discount event running — ₩1,000 off with card, ₩2,000 off with cash — so I thought it might be nice to grab takeout on the way home sometime.

Walking inside, there was a big sign on the wall listing the 'health benefits of octopus'! Knowing I could eat well and stay healthy at the same time put me in a good mood before the food even arrived.

What two people ordered at Yajju Yajju, and how to pick a spice level
The two of us ordered the Yajju Jjuu for two (spice level 1) plus a mayo garlic rice ball!!! There were so many menu options it was hard to decide, but we went with the restaurant's signature bestseller, 'Yajju Jjuu,' which lets you enjoy premium jjukkumi and beef brisket together! We picked spice level 1, which even people who can't handle spicy food can enjoy comfortably. Apparently it's a bit spicier than Shin Ramyun!! And of course we added the essential sidekick to spicy food — the 'mayo garlic rice ball'!
🌶️ Spice level tips at Yajju Yajju 🌶️
- Level 1 turned out to be exactly right when we actually tried it — spicy in a delicious way!
- Eating it, we thought, 'oh, even level 1 has a kick!' but it wasn't so spicy you couldn't finish it.
- Only recommended for spice-shy folks!!! If you're spice-shy but still kind of like a bit of heat, I'd recommend level 2!

What banchan (side dishes) come with the meal?
✔️A generous, well-rounded set of banchan. As soon as we finished ordering, a neat, proper table setting arrived.
- Fresh perilla leaves and crunchy pickled radish
- Popping flying fish roe and savory mayonnaise
- Sweet and salty corn kernels
- Crispy seaweed
- Hot, comforting bean sprout soup
Sipping the warm bean sprout soup and picking at the corn kernels, my anticipation for the main dish grew even more!

The Yajju Jjuu set for two: jjukkumi with beef brisket
✔️Yajju Jjuu for two. The main dish finally arrived! In the center of the hot plate sat a generous pile of red jjukkumi soaked in sauce, topped with crunchy bean sprouts, fresh chives, and plenty of sliced garlic. Beside it, beautifully grilled beef brisket sat neatly arranged, giving off a smoky aroma. Topped with sesame seeds too!!!
The real trick here is in the 'ssam' (wrap) — mixing and matching different combinations to wrap and eat! I placed a tangy pickled radish slice on top of a fragrant perilla leaf, then layered plump jjukkumi, savory brisket, and crunchy chives on top. Dab on some mayonnaise, pile on a generous amount of popping flying fish roe, and pop it all in one bite... so delicious! The spiciness, savoriness, and crunchy texture were all in perfect balance, nothing lacking.

We turned on the burner and let it bubble away, mixing in the bean sprouts, chives, jjukkumi, and brisket. At spice level 1, it wasn't overly intense, but the sweet-and-spicy special sauce's savory depth soaked all the way into the ingredients. The jjukkumi wasn't chewy at all — it had that perfect springy bite — and the savory fattiness of the brisket blended with the sauce so well that the moment we took a bite, we couldn't help but say, 'Wow, this is really good!'

Is the mayo garlic rice ball worth adding?
✔️Mayo garlic rice ball. I ordered it specifically because I wanted something to eat along with the jjukkumi, and the conclusion is: to.tal.satisfaction. The combo of jjukkumi and rice ball was absolutely top-tier 👍👍👍 Seriously, order this without question. On rice piled thick with savory seaweed flakes, mayonnaise was drizzled in a pretty lattice pattern, with finely diced pickled radish sitting cutely in the center.
I put on plastic gloves, mixed it all together, and shaped it into bite-sized round balls. Dipping one lightly into the center of the spicy jjukkumi's thick sauce... the subtle garlic aroma of the mayo garlic, the sweet savoriness of the mayonnaise, and the spicy jjukkumi sauce came together for an amazing combination! ⭐️This is truly an essential side dish you must order and eat together!

There's a Naver review receipt event and a rock-paper-scissors event, along with various other events, so I'd recommend joining in~~~👍👍👍
