Today's post is about Jowatso in Janghowon, where I went for beef with my fiancé! We wanted a proper meat meal after our wedding photoshoot. The beef really was so tender haha. The price was better than I expected too, and with such generous portions — beef at this price?! I thought it was genuinely great!!

What time to visit Jowatso, and what the dining room is like
If you go around 4:30 pm there are still seats at Jowatso, but by dinner time there's barely a spot left. We went a bit early, around 4:30. When we first walked in there were still seats, but a little while later, once dinner time hit, people just kept pouring in lol. By the end it was packed with almost no empty tables.

There were families, groups, and people out for dinner, so I figured this must already be a pretty famous restaurant in the Janghowon area haha. I guess busy places really are busy for a reason lol.

Is the 850g signature special cuts platter enough for two?
What we ordered at Jowatso was the signature special cuts 850g for ₩89,000. I thought, isn't 850g a lot for two people...? But once you're eating it alongside drinks, it goes down surprisingly easily lol.

Beef sushi made on the side of sushi rice
They also serve sushi rice alongside! This was seriously amazing lol. The meat was already tender and delicious on its own, but eating it on top of the sushi rice was a whole different level of good!! Making our own beef sushi was one of the memorable parts.

The portion was generous and it was nice being able to try several cuts together. Eating just one cut of beef can get a little tiresome after a while, but with the special-cuts set you get to enjoy slightly different textures each time, which made it even better.

How does the beef at Jowatso taste?
With beef, if you're unlucky you can end up somewhere with tough or gamey meat, but here, the moment we grilled a piece and took a bite — oh? This place's meat is delicious!

It was tender and you could really taste the beef's own savory flavor, so the two of us finished it all!!!!! haha My fiancé loves beef, and I ate happily and satisfied too haha.

Chive salad and pickled chili: the side dish combo
Eating it with the chive salad and pickled chili piled on top was seriously amazing lol. The savory, tender flavor of the beef combined with the crisp, refreshing chive salad, and the pickled chili cut through with a bit of spice so there was no room for it to feel greasy.
My fiancé showing off his little party tricks lol. So cute!!!! He got even more excited by my reaction and kept doing more lol. Eating good food, chatting away — such a great day.

Soju with the spicy soup
Beef after work, with a shot of soju... you just can't resist that combo lol. Good good. With tender meat and great side dishes, the drinks just kept flowing haha. That we drank three bottles is a secret lol.
If you've had beef and soju, you can't skip the spicy soup either, right? lol. Taking a warm, spicy sip here and there in between just made the soju flow even more smoothly haha. A bite of meat, a spoonful of soup, a shot of soju — good good!

Finishing with mul naengmyeon and extra sauce
Of course, we finished with naengmyeon (cold noodles)! We like eating mul naengmyeon with extra sauce mixed in, and this was seriously so good lol. The cool broth with a bit of spicy sauce stirred in was the perfect palate cleanser after the beef, and especially paired with a nicely grilled piece of beef, it was a dream combination... beef is love.

Personal mini fans and service at Jowatso
Once the grill fire was going, the heat rising toward our faces got pretty intense, but they had personal mini fans ready — such a thoughtful touch lol. Little details like this really boost satisfaction. The staff were all friendly too, so we ate comfortably.

Final verdict on Jowatso in Janghowon, Icheon
Jowatso in Janghowon was a satisfying find — tender meat and generous portions! Eating beef on top of the sushi rice was delicious, and the side dishes were made up of things I love, like the chive salad and pickled chili! The naengmyeon at the end was the perfect finish lol. The staff were friendly too, and if you're looking for a beef restaurant in Janghowon, I'd definitely go back!
