Icheon baby-friendly BBQ restaurant: weekend pork galbi, Neul Gogi Jip
In short
Neul Gogi Jip Icheon Main Branch is a charcoal BBQ restaurant on Gyeongchung-daero in Icheon, Gyeonggi, next to Barun Hospital, and it runs the same lunch specials and grill menu on weekends as on weekdays. Three adults and one baby came for weekend lunch and ordered 3 servings of pork galbi (marinated pork ribs), mul naengmyeon (cold noodles), tendon doenjang stew and 2 hwangmi pot rice bowls, with staff grilling all the meat so the table could eat while minding the baby. Baby chairs, free parking and a self-serve lettuce bar make Neul Gogi Jip an easy pick for a family meal in Icheon.

If you're craving meat in Icheon and don't know where to go, I want to introduce a restaurant I keep coming back to. This is a real review from our Nth visit with our baby.

Neul Gogi Jip is the Icheon BBQ restaurant I end up visiting almost every time I go to my parents' place. The lunch menu is great value, the meat is delicious, and the place is clean — it's one of the first spots that comes to mind when we're deciding on a family meal.
Where is Neul Gogi Jip Icheon Main Branch, and what are its hours?
Neul Gogi Jip Icheon Main Branch sits right next to Barun Hospital, a spot every Icheon local knows. It's also close to Icheon Bus Terminal and the Miranda Hotel.
- Open daily 11:00–23:00
- No break time on weekends, weekday break time 15:30–16:30
- Last order weekdays 14:30, 20:30 / weekends 20:30
- Closed on the day of major holidays

There's a parking lot right in front of the restaurant that's free to use. It gets a bit busy during peak meal times, but I don't think I've ever failed to find a spot.

Weekend lunch wait and baby-friendly seating at Neul Gogi Jip
The inside of Neul Gogi Jip feels clean and modern. We went during weekend lunch and the hall tables were packed — buzzing with people. Luckily there was no wait; we only stood by briefly while a table was cleared before being seated right away.
There are also private rooms, which looked great for group gatherings or family meals.

Several baby chairs are on hand, so it was convenient for us since we were bringing along a young child.

On one side of the restaurant, there's a row of certificates on display, including a traditional Korean cuisine master certificate.

Just taking a look around the restaurant, you get a strong sense that this is a place recognized as a true local favorite in Icheon.

There's also a corner selling snacks,

and for Chuseok (Korean thanksgiving holiday), they were also selling their own holiday gift sets. Since Neul Gogi Jip's meat is genuinely delicious, it seems worth considering if you want a trustworthy, less common holiday gift.

We were shown to a window seat and sat down without needing a baby chair this time.

Self-serve lettuce bar and house-made kimchi
There's a self-serve bar on one side of the restaurant where you can freely refill lettuce wraps or side dishes you want. Every time I visit, I notice the self-serve bar is kept spotless. My dad in particular raved about the kimchi at the self-serve bar — Neul Gogi Jip doesn't use store-bought Chinese kimchi; they make it themselves.

Lunch special or grill menu: which to order at Neul Gogi Jip
Neul Gogi Jip's menu is broadly split into a grilled meat menu and lunch specials. Lunch specials are often unavailable on weekends at many places, but Neul Gogi Jip has no such restriction — which I love. Great value too!
I've tried everything from the lunch specials to the grilled dishes, and I think Neul Gogi Jip is a place where the satisfaction is even higher when you get the grilled meat. If you go with pork, there's not much difference from the lunch special menu in price! If you want something even more delicious and have the budget, go for beef — otherwise, the pork is delicious too for everyday meals.

You can order comfortably right from your table.

Pork galbi for three, mul naengmyeon and tendon doenjang stew
This time we came with three adults and a baby, so we ordered 3 servings of pork galbi, mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup), tendon doenjang stew, and two pot rice bowls.

The side dishes came out first, followed by the meat and the charcoal.

Seasoned crab also came out, and every single dish was neat and delicious.

Here's the pork galbi for three.

Staff grill every piece, so eating with a baby is easy
Another advantage of this place: they grill all the meat for you.
At BBQ restaurants where you grill the meat yourself, it's chaos trying to watch the baby and grill at the same time — but here, staff grilled everything, so we could eat comfortably.
The table was really full, wasn't it? With all the side dishes and the meal menu coming out, we actually ran out of table space.

We ate it plain and also wrapped it in lettuce — it was delicious no matter how we ate it.

Hwangmi pot rice instead of plain rice, down to the crispy rice broth
Also, I strongly recommend always ordering the pot rice. It's clearly tastier than plain steamed rice. Neul Gogi Jip says they use hwangmi rice freshly milled at the restaurant every day, and maybe that's why the rice tasted even better than at most Icheon rice-specialty restaurants. Eating the fluffy rice and then the crispy rice water afterward — so savory.
The tendon doenjang stew that goes with the rice is a bit spicy and fiery, while the naengmyeon is clean and refreshing. The tendon stew in particular is generously loaded with tendon. Honestly, it's not that one is better than the other — it really comes down to preference. If you want to eat heartily with rice, go for the tendon doenjang stew; if you want something cool and refreshing, go for the naengmyeon! Choose based on your mood. Personally, I'm team rice.

We were too full to join the event, but apparently if you participate, you get a free golden bomb cheese egg custard worth ₩8,000 — make sure to join and get the perk.

Ice cream to finish: is Neul Gogi Jip worth it for a family meal?
After finishing everything, we had ice cream for dessert and all the parenting stress just melted away — pure happiness. We had a delicious meal together at Neul Gogi Jip and then went on an outing to the Icheon Environmental Education Center, and the baby's satisfaction level was at its peak too.

Delicious, clean, easy parking — an Icheon BBQ restaurant with so many upsides that I'm always satisfied every time I visit. I'd recommend it for family gatherings, work dinners, and more. Baby chairs and tableware were provided, and you can finish it off as a full course, dessert included.
