Kid-friendly ssambap restaurant near Starfield Hanam: Dolsoe Ssambap
In short
Dolsoe Ssambap is a Korean restaurant in Hanam Misa, Gyeonggi, where beef brisket is wrapped with a dozen kinds of leafy vegetables as ssambap (rice and meat in lettuce wraps). After shopping at Starfield Hanam, the writer and her children shared three servings of beef brisket ssambap along with a mild, not-spicy doenjang stew and soft steamed egg. Dolsoe Ssambap is worth remembering as a filling family dinner after a shopping trip.

Walking into Dolsoe Ssambap's spacious dining room with no wait
The exterior was clean and wood-toned. We visited a bit earlier in the evening, so we got seated right away with no wait haha.

The place was bigger than I expected, which made it comfortable for a family meal, and there seemed to be no shortage of seats even for larger groups. Since phone reservations are available, it might be worth calling ahead if you're coming as a group!

Choosing the main dish and the ssamjang at Dolsoe Ssambap
The menu let us pick a main to our taste — thin-sliced pork belly, beef brisket, spicy stir-fried pork, beef bulgogi, spicy stir-fried octopus, or pork ribs. Order a ssambap (wrapped rice) set and you get a whopping 12 kinds of wrap vegetables, each carefully labeled.

You also get to choose between two kinds of ssamjang (wrap dipping sauce) — seafood or mackerel. I figured each would have its own charm haha. We ordered three servings of beef brisket ssambap, which the kids could enjoy too 😋

Twelve wrap vegetables and the tidy side dishes
The side dishes arrived beautifully arranged right as we ordered! The 12 wrap vegetables came fresh, and the side dishes paired well with rice too 🥬 Pickled onion, sea mustard stem, salad, seasoned eggplant, cucumber salad, stir-fried fish cake, seasoned radish, and wrap radish all came out looking clean and neat haha. Salted hairtail intestine and basic ssamjang came alongside as well.

Since we ordered three servings, they prepared both types of ssamjang for us, so we got to try each!

The steamed egg and mild doenjang stew the kids loved
The kids especially loved the soft, fluffy steamed egg! It seemed to have sesame oil in it, and the nutty aroma and flavor made it delicious just mixed into rice.

Doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) also comes standard, generously filled with ingredients and not spicy, so it was easy to give the kids with rice too 😄

Quick-cooking beef brisket and mackerel ssamjang
Here comes the main course! The kids ate the seasoned beef brisket well as it came out, so we started grilling quickly haha.

Beef brisket is thin, so it cooks fast, which is even better — wrap it up full with fresh vegetables and it's pure bliss 👍🏻 They said the wrap vegetables are refillable too! This was my first time trying mackerel ssamjang, and it wasn't fishy at all — it went really well with the wraps, making everything even tastier. The seafood ssamjang was good too, but if I had to pick one, I'd recommend the mackerel ssamjang haha.

Is beef brisket ssambap a filling family dinner in Hanam Misa?
The portions were generous, the per-person price was reasonable, and with the side dishes and fresh wrap vegetables together, it was a seriously filling dinner 🤤 I don't usually eat this many vegetables, but I think that's the charm of ssambap — you get a healthy, hearty meal with fresh vegetables alongside. I'll remember this place for next time we're near Starfield Hanam!
