Daegu night-view café with vanilla mélange takeout: Hands Coffee

A few days ago I went to Hands Coffee at Dongchon Resort with a friend ☕️

We didn't sit in the café long that day since it was takeout, but honestly, the place was so spacious and had so much to see that just grabbing coffee and leaving felt like a bit of a waste. So today I'm going to introduce the inside of the café too haha

This one is on pretty high ground even for Dongchon Resort, so the view is really great! We visited at night, and with the night view added on top, the vibe was excellent 🌃

Is parking easy at Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch?

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch has a large parking lot, so there was zero worry about parking. Heading toward Ilmaister High School from Dongchon Resort, you'll come across Hands Coffee — and the best part was how huge the parking lot is!

Finding parking when visiting Dongchon Resort is usually kind of stressful, but here there's a large lot so parking is not a concern at all. No need to circle around looking for a spot — just park and walk right into the café haha. For anyone visiting Dongchon Resort by car, this is a bigger perk than you'd expect 👍

2nd, 3rd and 4th floors: a different mood on each

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch isn't your typical small café — it's a large space spread across the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. Order at the kiosk on the 2nd floor.

I liked that the mood and seating setup are a little different on each floor, so you can pick a spot depending on the vibe you want that day. There's an elevator too, which is great!!

Since we were ordering anyway, we took a look around the store. The 2nd floor is where you order and also felt like the busiest floor with the most people. There was a wide variety of seating too, so it seemed like a good spot to just relax with a coffee.

The 3rd floor, good for quiet conversation

Head up a floor and the atmosphere changes again. The 3rd floor is a bit calmer and quieter! It felt like a good place to sit with friends and chat quietly, or spend time leisurely over coffee. If you're looking for a more relaxed café at Dongchon Resort instead of somewhere loud and bustling, the 3rd floor seems like a solid choice haha

My favorite spot was the 4th floor! There's a terrace up there 🌿 When we visited it was still a bit hot to sit outside on the terrace for long, but I thought once the weather cools down a little, this place would be really nice.

Sitting on the terrace on a nice day, gazing at the Dongchon Resort scenery with the breeze blowing while sipping coffee... isn't that exactly why we come to cafés ☕️ Especially in the evening you can even catch the night view, so as long as the weather cooperates, it'd be lovely to sit there from sunset onward.

That day we ordered vanilla mélange + whipped cream cappuccino + teddy chocolate cake + milk cream roll + milk tea 🤤 We were only going to grab drinks to go, but somehow ended up picking all sorts of things lol

Vanilla mélange

One of Hands Coffee's signature drinks — vanilla mélange! It has that distinctly sweet, smooth vanilla flavor, so it's a menu item people who like sweet coffee would enjoy. The bitterness of the coffee combined with the sweet vanilla flavor made it feel a bit more like a dessert than a regular vanilla latte ☕️

Whipped cream cappuccino

And then the cute-sounding whipped cream cappuccino! With whipped cream piled on top of the cappuccino, it looks even sweeter than a regular cappuccino from the start 🤤 There was a generous dusting of cinnamon on top too, which I loved haha

Bear-shaped teddy chocolate cake

Lastly, the teddy bear cake 🐻 I ordered this purely because it was cute lol. Being shaped like a bear, it's great for photos and also good for sharing with friends. These days I feel like cafés need to offer at least one cute dessert like this to make me happy 🤎 Eating it alongside the coffee was a sweet way to finish things off.

Who is this Daegu night-view café best for?

I'd recommend Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch to anyone looking for a café at Dongchon Resort with a pretty night view or a large café with easy parking. We used it as takeout this time, but after looking around, I think next time it'd be great to actually settle in and stay a while.

The place is spacious enough that it never feels cramped, and since floors 2 through 4 each have a slightly different mood, you can pick a seat to match your taste. The 3rd floor if you want to talk quietly, the 4th-floor terrace if the weather's nice. Especially once autumn weather turns cool, I'd personally love to have a coffee on that 4th-floor terrace haha

Stopping by briefly for takeout like we did is fine too, but if you have time to spare, I'd recommend taking it slow in the café with a coffee while enjoying the Dongchon Resort scenery ☕️
