I was trying to figure out what to eat for dinner near Dongdaegu Station, and this time I decided on lamb skewers after a long while 🐏 The place I visited was Yangbokjeom! The name literally means "tailor shop" so at first I thought, wait, is this a place to get a suit made? Haha, but it turns out it's actually a place to properly enjoy lamb.

Wangyangkkochi and lamb sirloin skewers: one serving each is plenty

The lamb skewers look super fresh!!! Left is the lamb skewer, right is the sirloin. I wondered if ordering just one serving each would be too little, but look at the size of these skewers ㅠㅠㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ they're huge, huge...
The skewers and sirloin rotate automatically, which is so convenient — at other lamb skewer places you're right in front of the fire and the smoke doesn't clear well, so your eyes sting and it gets hot, but at Yangbokjeom Dongdaegu Station the smoke clears well and it wasn't hot at all, which I loved!

Lamb usually has a distinctive gamy smell, but at Yangbokjeom Dongdaegu there was zero gamy or off smell. No exaggeration, it was as soft as beef, with just the right amount of richness and a clean flavor.

Dipping it into the cumin powder and curry powder was pure bliss. I'm still fairly new to lamb so I can't compare it against a ton of other places, but I can confidently say it's currently ranked #1 for me... 😍❤️
Egg fried rice at Yangbokjeom

Ordering fried rice alongside lamb skewers really makes it feel like a proper meal instead of just eating meat. The fluffy, well-separated fried rice went so well with the lamb skewers.
The fried rice portion was also generous, but it was so good that the two of us finished every last grain ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
How was the quabaorou (sweet and sour pork)?

Eating only lamb skewers can get a bit greasy after a while, so we ordered quabaorou (sweet and sour pork) partway through. I dislike quabaorou that's overly sour, and I also dislike it when it's overly sweet, but Yangbokjeom's quabaorou was just the right amount of sour and not too sweet, which I really liked.

And it wasn't just thick fried batter either — the meat was substantial too, with a coating of just the right thickness!!!
There were about 5 big chunks of quabaorou ㅋㅋㅋㅋ the owner at Yangbokjeom is really generous with portions... If you're looking for good food near Dongdaegu Station and want to enjoy Chinese dishes alongside your lamb skewers, I'd recommend pairing it with quabaorou too!!
