Namyangju bakery for golden egg tarts: Byway Bakers
In short
Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch is a bakery in Namyangju, Gyeonggi, beside Byeollae Byeolgaram Station Exit 4. At 5 PM, the golden egg tart and Chodang sweet-corn salt bread were still available, and both were exactly my taste. Verdict: egg tart fans will not regret coming here.

A bakery right in front of Byeollae Byeolgaram Station

Today, I was coming back from Nowon and got off at Byeolgaram Station to transfer buses when I remembered how delicious the egg tarts at Byway Bakers were—so I stopped by again! Here is my bakery review.

Come out of Exit 4 at Byeollae Byeolgaram Station and you will see the Byeollae Byeolgaram Station Exit 4 · Byeolgaram Village · Detached Housing Block 3 bus stop. The bakery is on the first floor of the building right beside it. The English sign in orange lettering stands out, so it is easy to find.

Byway Bakers is easy to reach, the bread is so delicious, and it is packed with cream—totally my kind of bakery!! It is one of my personal favorite bakeries in Byeollae. I visited around 5 PM, and as you would expect from a popular spot, a lot of the bread had already sold out. But thankfully, every bread I wanted was still there, so I got them safely!

Classic salt bread is ₩2,900 each, and a four-piece package is on sale for ₩9,900.

They also have butter tteok (rice cake), which is very on-trend these days.

Maybe because it is peach season, they also had peach Wakkpu salt bread and cakes.

There are Dubai chocolate salt breads, castella salt breads, and lots of different financiers too.

Classic salt bread and Chodang sweet-corn Wakkpu salt bread
Today I chose a classic salt bread, an egg tart, and the Chodang sweet-corn Wakkpu salt bread.

On my last visit, I had the mango Wakkpu salt bread. I remember it being so delicious because it was filled with a whole lot of real fresh mango, but this time I went for the corn flavor, which is totally my thing haha. It is a Byeollae bakery I always trust, so trying something new is fun too.

The Chodang sweet-corn Wakkpu salt bread perfectly brings together the salty-sweet charm of salt bread with sweet, crisp Chodang corn and custard milk whipped cream. Do not eat this one by holding it—cut it with a knife!! There is so much cream that it will spill!!

The soft, sweet cream fills your whole mouth, and it is seriously so good. Personally, I liked the Chodang corn even more than the mango—it was completely my taste!

The golden egg tart you absolutely have to get
And when you come here, the one thing you absolutely, truly absolutely have to pick up is the egg tart. This is the best among the Byeollae egg tart spots I know. It is called the Golden Egg Tart, and it costs ₩3,800.

It seems to be a Portuguese-style egg tart: crisp on the outside, moist inside, and generously sized, so one is enough!! What more is there to say? If you are looking for a great egg tart in Byeollae, you absolutely have to come here.

Gift packaging and in-store payment information
The bread tastes great here, but the gift packaging is also very neat and well done. It would be perfect when visiting someone’s home or bringing thank-you gifts.
- Choose-your-own 10-piece financier package: ₩32,000 → ₩25,000
- Choose-your-own 5-piece financier package: ₩16,000 → ₩13,500
- Salty 5-piece financier package: ₩14,500 → ₩10,900
With package discounts, reasonable prices, and pretty wrapping, this is also a great Byeollae bakery when you are looking for bread to give as a gift.

There is one thing to note when paying: Kakao Pay and Naver Pay are not accepted for in-store payment. If you are going, I recommend bringing a physical card or another payment method.
On the other hand, they are also running a worthwhile event: spend over ₩10,000 in store and write a Naver receipt review to receive a free baked treat.
They even thoughtfully set out cute pineapple-bun-shaped fans for customers to take on hot days.

A truly great Byeollae egg tart spot that egg tart lovers will never regret visiting!
