My hair damage had been bothering me for a while, so while looking for a Gwangmyeong Sageori hair salon, I visited Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch. Since I have permed hair, the ends had gotten especially dry and frizzy lately, so this time I decided not to just get a cut but to properly get a clinic too, and booked an appointment. The result was that I loved my hair and the salon was so kind, so I'm leaving a detailed review!

The interior of Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch is clean and comfortable. It has floor-to-ceiling windows, which made the atmosphere even cozier and nicer :)

Small trees and plants blended with the lighting, giving off a relaxed cafe-or-lounge feel rather than the typical stiff salon vibe.

I had booked ahead, so I went straight to getting my hair done with no waiting time!

There was a coffee machine, drinks, and simple snacks available so I could relax comfortably during the treatment.

The clinic takes quite a while, and they brought me warm tea too, so I could sip it and relax during the treatment :)

For first-time visitors, the women's cut started at ₩13,200, with the emotional design women's cut at ₩19,800 and a bangs cut at ₩3,000.

I liked that even the cut menu alone was broken down into this many options, so you can choose according to your desired style and budget. This time I did the cut together with a shampoo and clinic.

How the 4-step full clinic for perm-damaged hair works

The director herself handled my treatment that day, and I could tell right away her touch was different. Every movement of her hands was so skilled that I could relax completely the whole time I sat there :) During the consultation, she examined my hair condition closely and explained in detail the level of damage and the characteristics of permed hair. She went through carefully why the clinic was needed and what role each ingredient played, so it didn't feel like just getting a treatment done — I felt like I actually understood what was happening :)

She explained that the clinic process differs depending on the goal — for dyed hair, moisture comes first, while for permed hair like mine, both moisture and protein are needed together. The clinic I got this time went through four steps in total.

Step 1: Moisture clinic

First, a moisture clinic product was applied evenly all over my hair, left on for a while, then rinsed off cleanly with lukewarm water. The water temperature on my scalp was just right, so it was comfortable the whole time. After rinsing off the moisture step, my hair already felt noticeably more moist and soft compared to before.

Step 2: Protein CMC and heat treatment

Next was applying protein-line CMC and running a heat treatment device, where I sat with a cap on my head, eyes closed, resting for a bit while the gentle warmth came through from the machine.

After the protein CMC step, my damaged ends felt like they were being filled in — running my hand through my hair, the snagging feeling was clearly reduced.

Final step: Artificial cuticle mist

Last, an artificial cuticle mist was sprayed thinly over the surface of my hair like a coating to finish things off. By the time this step and the blow-dry were done, my hair had a real burst of shine. Looking in the mirror, the way the strands caught the light was noticeably different from before the treatment.

They told me going through this whole process is called the full clinic, and since I had perm damage, I went with the full clinic :)

At each step, they alternated between the hair dryer and the heat treatment device to make sure the ingredients soaked deep into the hair, so it never felt like something just brushed on the surface. The whole treatment, including the cut, took close to 1–2 hours!

Before the treatment, my perm ends were dry and felt like they were splitting, so I worried every time I styled them, but after the clinic they clearly turned smooth and soft. There was noticeably less snagging when combing, and the texture itself felt totally different to the touch.

I checked again the next morning at home and the shine had held up, so it wasn't just a one-or-two-day sparkle — it really worked. When washing and drying my hair, it tangled less than before too, so the actual time I spent on hair care felt shorter.
