I got my hair done at the salon and suddenly got so hungry I just had to have meat. So today I want to introduce Sammokjip Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch, a Gwangmyeong Sageori Station favorite where staff grill everything for you — I went and ate comfortably and generously, and I'm here to tell you about it.

Where Sammokjip is in Gwangmyeong, and its opening hours
Sammokjip Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch is located at 8 Oriro 985beon-angil, 1st floor, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and is open from 12:00 to 01:00. It sits right on Gwangmyeong Food Culture Street's dining alley, so it's an easy Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Korean BBQ spot to swing by whenever you're craving samgyeopsal (pork belly).

Since it's open until 1am, it was also a comfortable place for office workers to gather after work.

One wall had accent lighting, giving off a good date-spot atmosphere while still feeling like an old-school neighborhood joint — an easy place to eat comfortably.

What we ordered at Sammokjip and what it cost
At Sammokjip we ordered the scallion-wrapped galmaegisal for ₩18,900 and the teukmokssal for ₩16,900, plus steamed egg and cold buckwheat noodles. Since the prices were so reasonable, we ended up ordering generously.
- Sammok teukmokssal (premium pork neck) ₩16,900
- Sammok scallion-wrapped galmaegisal (skirt meat) ₩18,900
- Chadol doenjang stew ₩7,000
- Steamed egg (gyeranjjim) ₩4,000
- Beer ₩5,000
- Cold buckwheat noodles (mul memil makguksu) ₩9,000

You can grab more side dishes at the self-serve corner — kimchi, pickled vegetables, garlic and ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) — all sides that go great with the meat.

Why it pays to arrive before 6pm
One tip for visiting Sammokjip, this Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Korean BBQ favorite — if you arrive before 6pm, they'll give you a free stew or noodle dish.

The basic table setting includes myeongi namul (wild garlic leaf), soy sauce dip, kimchi, salted shrimp and lettuce for wraps, and if you want more you can just help yourself at the self-serve bar.

How the whole-scallion galmaegisal and teukmokssal tasted
Sammokjip's scallion-wrapped galmaegisal is a dish where the meat is rolled up in green onion and grilled. We ordered galmaegisal and pork neck wrapped around scallion, and the meat quality was great and fresh. Mushrooms and peppers, good for grilling alongside, were also placed on the table.

The best part was that the staff grilled the meat at our own pace, so it came out tastier and just the right doneness — very comfortable to eat.

It's delicious dipped in Sammokjip's signature sauce. Dipped in the soy sauce it's clean and crisp, and dipped in the salted shrimp it has a savory depth that makes the meat even better.

The pork neck wasn't tough at all and had a clean, mild flavor. The juices were still alive, so it was rich and satisfying. The peppers and mushrooms grilled alongside it paired well too.

Steamed egg and kimchi stew as side orders
Sammokjip's steamed egg is ₩4,000 and comes puffed up in a stone bowl. Fluffy, moist and soft, it was delicious too. Served hot and puffed up in the bowl, scooping it out with a spoon felt like it soothed your stomach — really good.

I'd already been craving kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew), and this one was spicy and tasty, not overcooked, so it went great with the meat. With big chunks of tofu and a deep flavor, this is a kimchi jjigae I'd recommend you definitely try at this Gwangmyeong Sageori Korean BBQ spot.

Finishing with mul memil makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles)
Sammokjip's mul memil makguksu is ₩9,000 and came as a mixed style piled high with vegetables. Since Sammokjip Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch is such good value, we'd already ordered plenty of meat, and while wondering what to have for the meal course, buckwheat noodles seemed like a good call. Piled generously with vegetables, it was a visual win from the start.
I assumed 'mul' (water) memil makguksu would mean a clear broth, but it turned out to be more of a mixed noodle dish with some broth added in, which made it easy to toss together. The sauce, spicy with a hint of sweet-and-sour, tasted clean and refreshing after all that meat.

Sammokjip Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch offers good-value meat with real quality, and the scallion-wrapped galmaegisal — meat rolled in green onion and grilled — had a clean, mild flavor with great depth, making for a special taste. Since staff grill the meat for you, you can just relax and chat while eating, which makes it a place I'd want to come back to often.
