Today I went to Chat Baker in Gongdo, Anseong!

Inside Chat Baker's 500-pyeong first floor

Chat Baker is a 500-pyeong bakery café on Seodong-daero in Gongdo-eup, Anseong. The 1st floor has a wide hall plus an outdoor terrace, while the 2nd floor is split into a mountain-view section and an LP music space.

Let's start with a look around the 1st floor 👀✨ I've been to a bunch of large cafés in Anseong, but I really loved the vibe here 💛

There's an outdoor terrace too — seems like a great spot to sit outside on a nice day.

Wow 😮... true to its 500-pyeong scale, it was huge with tons of seats. The spacing between tables was generous too, so it was easy to sit back and relax!

The sofa seats give major vibes!

Water runs down the floor-to-ceiling glass window, giving that rainy-day feeling >,< Perfect for sitting and zoning out watching the water.

The atmosphere was great, but there's another reason Chat Baker is famous — the brunch and bread! The menu board was so clean and the variety was really impressive.

Everything looked delicious so I had major inner conflict deciding lol

After ordering, I properly looked around.

Apparently Chat Baker kneads and bakes over 80 kinds of handmade bread fresh every single day...!

There were also cakes that looked almost too pretty to eat.

There really were so many kinds of bread! I visited around 2pm and a lot had already sold out.

• Ang-butter salt bread – salt bread paired with red bean and butter, great if you like sweet-and-salty
• Ciabatta sandwich – chewy ciabatta packed with fillings

• Gongju chestnut bread – loaded with chestnuts, a popular item that sells out if you come late

The 2nd floor: LP music, mountain view and the seats

The 2nd floor of Chat Baker is a music space with LP records and a green mountain-view area. Seating ranges from floor seating to sofas, and group tables run from 4-person to 20-person sizes.

You can take these stairs up to the 2nd floor.

The 2nd floor had a totally different feel from the 1st! There were lots of LP records, and remember how I said I really loved Chat Baker? Music is one of the reasons why!

The view and the music vibe were honestly incredible ✨

And since the 2nd floor has a lush green mountain view, it's perfect for healing while listening to music 🎧🌳

I also loved the variety of seating — floor seating to sofa areas, and group tables from 4-person up to 20-person.

Brunch, coffee and dessert in one stop at Chat Baker

I sat at the floor seating right in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.

Now the real food-tasting begins~!

Doesn't it look so good 💛 A place where you can have a delicious pasta and then handle dessert and coffee all in one spot! Usually you have to eat and then go find a separate café, but here you don't need to haha.

Tomato seafood pancetta pasta, spicy or mild

For the tomato seafood pancetta pasta, the staff actually asked me, 'Would you like it spicy?' I was surprised they had a spice-level option! They're really serious about brunch here 😆🧡

I think I made the right call ordering it spicy — totally my style~

I already love tomato pasta, but this one puts a lot of dedicated pasta places to shame. The tangy tomato sauce was loaded with mussels, shrimp, and squid, and the noodles were cooked just right — chewy and genuinely delicious 🤤

While inhaling my pasta, I took a sip of the americano in between too. Ha... the coffee here is good too. Really nutty with a slight acidity, and a deep, rich flavor overall — exactly my taste ☕️

Shanghai butter tteok (butter rice cake)

Shanghai butter rice cake — you all know it, right? No need to explain...

I've been disappointed buying it elsewhere before, but I genuinely recommend this one!

It's so chewy-chewy, thick, and generously sized too 💛 Best butter rice cake I've had.

Fig cake at Chat Baker

Fig cake — I had this as a finisher and honestly didn't expect much, but it would've been a real shame to leave without trying it 😂

It was genuinely packed with figs — I think there was more fig than actual cake lol

You could really taste the fig, and while whipped cream can get heavy after a while, this wasn't too sweet overall, so it was just right! If I have an anniversary coming up soon, I'm definitely booking a cake here.

The bus tray return is on the 1st floor — please return your dishes there once you're done!

I had a solid meal from coffee to pasta to cake, and spent a good while healing while listening to the music.

It's not easy to love everything — the food, the space, and the music — but here I really was satisfied with all of it!!
