A big bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station with genuinely delicious desserts, Something About Coffee 🧁☕️🩶
I've been going to Gangnam/Sinnonhyeon a lot lately because of some personal appointments. So before and after those appointments I've visited a lot of cafés and restaurants around here! And there's one place among them I really want to introduce you to, so here's a post about it. >_<
Where is Something About Coffee and what are its hours?
Something About Coffee is a café occupying the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors at 30 Gangnam-daero102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It's open daily 11:00-22:30, with dine-in service until 22:00.
It's about a 3-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station! It has a clean, white-toned exterior.
Floors 1-3, the terrace and how full the seats were on a weekend afternoon
Something About Coffee spans three floors, and the interior has this vibe~~ really gives off European vintage energy, right?! This is genuinely a perfect café to visit in autumn. Warm yet antique atmosphere.
There's also an outdoor terrace! Maybe because the weather's been nice lately, quite a few people were sitting outside. Evenings get chilly so sitting there during the warm daytime hours would be just right!
This is the 3rd floor! That day the 1st and 2nd floors were absolutely packed, so I really agonized over where to sit,,,, I visited around 5pm on a weekend and it was super crowded haha. Luckily a good window seat opened up on the 2nd floor so I sat there!!

There's such a wide variety of desserts and baked goods here!! They all looked so pretty that I hit decision paralysis all over again......
Canelés, pound cakes, financiers, scones, egg tarts, ganache cookies, and more.
Seasonal fruit sandos with fig or orange, yellow cheesecake, pistachio cake, lemon yogurt gâteau, and more.
It was so sad realizing there's only so much I can eat here..... I genuinely wanted to eat everything.

Totally cute, adorable visuals···· Honestly I also wanted the lemon Earl Grey cookie scone?? but if I ate that too I'd become a full-blown dessert hunter of desire, so I held back.
How the black sesame cream latte and vanilla latte taste
Something About Coffee's signature black sesame cream latte (₩7,800) and iced vanilla latte (₩7,200) were both less sweet than I expected, nutty and rich and delicious!! I get why the black sesame cream latte is the signature...
That said, if you're planning to have dessert like I did, I'd recommend a plain americano or a light tea over the cream latte..^^
Egg cookie tart and pistachio cheesecake, tasted
The desserts were seriously delicious too..
Egg cookie tart: the egg filling inside the cookie tart shell was as soft as sundubu (soft tofu)!! You could really taste the vanilla bean flecks, and the luxurious flavor was amazing.
Pistachio cheesecake: it felt like a cake I'd never had before. The pistachio flavor wasn't ice-cream-style pistachio, but purely the nutty taste of the real nut!! Nutty pistachios, thick heavy cheese cream, and crisp cookie crumble all coming together — this is heaven.....♡ → Genuinely recommend it.
Is Something About Coffee worth it? Final verdict
It was hectic and noisy since it was Gangnam on a weekend.... but the drinks and desserts were so satisfying that if you have plans in Gangnam?? This is a must. Highly recommend 'Something About Coffee.'
