What to eat at Starfield Anseong: Chibao in the Eatopia food hall

Chibao is a Taiwanese food restaurant inside Eatopia, on the 2nd floor of Starfield Anseong. It's known as an Anseong jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) Chinese restaurant, so we decided to eat here this time.

When you're wandering around Starfield Anseong, the hardest moment is always mealtime hahaha!!!! There's so much food that you end up doing a full lap just checking out menus first. That day, we picked Chibao inside Eatopia, known as an Anseong jjamppong Chinese restaurant.

The sign reads TAIWANESE RESTAURANT CHIBAO right from the entrance, so it was clear straight away this is a Taiwanese food specialty spot. It's an open-style storefront too, so we could check the menu board easily!!

Chibao menu and set prices

Chibao's menu board had noodle dishes like yuni jjajangmyeon, Sichuan yuni jjajangmyeon, original tantanmen, beef tangmyeon, and seafood stir-fried noodles, plus cooked dishes like tangsuyuk and mandu. We picked the tantanmen set for 19,900 won.

Looking at the menu board, there were more options than I expected.

There were noodle dishes like yuni jjajangmyeon, Sichuan yuni jjajangmyeon, original tantanmen, beef tangmyeon, and seafood stir-fried noodles, plus cooked dishes like tangsuyuk and mandu too!! There was a solo value set that's great for eating alone, all the way up to a 2-person couple set, so it looked easy to choose based on how many people you're with.

We didn't order a bunch of separate dishes that day — we just went with the tantanmen set for 19,900 won haha. Rather than just tantanmen alone, being able to eat tangsuyuk alongside it was nice when you don't feel like agonizing over the menu haha. There's a reason it's known as an Anseong jjamppong Chinese restaurant!!

How ordering works at Chibao: buzzer and self-pickup

Since Chibao is inside Eatopia, the system is order first, then wait with a buzzer. When the food's ready, the buzzer goes off and you carry it over yourself — that's it!

After walking around Starfield so much I was already starving, so I just kept staring at the buzzer haha TT

What comes in Chibao's 19,900-won tantanmen set

Finally, our tantanmen set arrived! Chibao's tantanmen set came as a big bowl of tantanmen plus tangsuyuk and pickled radish, all on one tray.

The tantanmen bowl itself was pretty big, so it looked filling just from the visuals — topped with bok choy, egg, and meat.

There was a ring of red oil over the broth, so it clearly looked different from a typical noodle soup right away!

With the tangsuyuk coming along too, the whole set felt a lot more substantial than just noodles alone.

Chibao's tantanmen: how the bowl looks and tastes

Chibao's tantanmen has red oil sitting over a pale, creamy broth, with meat, egg, and bok choy piled generously in the center. Looking at it up close made it look even more appetizing.

The noodles were more generous than I expected too, and the toppings weren't bunched to one side — they were spread around, so it was easy to mix them in however you liked.

If you usually stick to Korean food or familiar dishes when eating at Starfield, I think trying something different like this is worth it. Especially if you're searching for a Starfield Anseong restaurant and you like noodle dishes, it's worth checking the menu board :)

The tangsuyuk that comes with the set

The tangsuyuk in the tantanmen set wasn't like ordering a whole extra dish separately — it's a portion meant to be eaten alongside the tantanmen. A nice setup when you want to try multiple dishes on your own.

The tangsuyuk pieces were fried nice and big with plenty of sauce on top. Popping in a piece here and there between bites of tantanmen kept the meal from feeling one-note. Best of all, ordering just one set meant we could handle noodles + a cooked dish in one go — good stuff bbb

Is Chibao a good meal stop mid-shopping?

Chibao is inside Eatopia at Starfield Anseong, so it was easy to stop by mid-shopping trip. Having a range of choices — jjajangmyeon, tantanmen, stir-fried noodles, tangsuyuk, mandu — was a plus too.

Once you're inside Starfield, there's so much to shop and browse that you end up walking around for hours easily haha. Which means a solid meal break somewhere in the middle is essential!

If just one dish feels like it's not quite enough, like it was for us, ordering a set to get sides along with it is a good option! We went with the tantanmen set this time, but next time we're eating at Starfield Anseong, I'd like to try something else on the menu :)
