Pizza Slice Seoul, basement level near Seongsu Station: a second visit
Pizza Slice Seoul is a pizza-by-the-slice shop on the basement level at 159 Achasan-ro near Seongsu Station. This time the order was a pepperoni slice, a mushroom slice, a bottled Budweiser, and a zero-sugar cola.

Back at Pizza Slice Seoul again. A little after dinnertime, my friend and I were heading from Seongsu toward Konkuk University when I suddenly remembered this place from a previous visit, so we dropped in. This was already my second time here, and even after a while it still had that same hip atmosphere — it was oddly nice to see it again.
What the space feels like: a hip basement that isn't stuffy
Even though Pizza Slice Seoul is in a basement, it doesn't feel stuffy at all — the distinctive atmosphere really comes through. Hip-hop plays nonstop, and listening to it while eating pizza sets the mood just right.
You can feel that free, hip Seongsu-style energy, which made it easy to relax and chat with my friend. Above all, it's a sleek space — being a newer building, it has less of that worn, retro Seongsu feel and more of that trendy look that's popular right now.

What we ordered: a pepperoni slice and a mushroom slice
The pepperoni was salty with a rich flavor that paired especially well with beer, while the mushroom added earthy mushroom aroma and a milder taste, good for alternating with the pepperoni. Being sold by the slice also meant we could pick one of each without any commitment — loved that!

How the pepperoni slice tasted
One of the things we ordered was the pepperoni pizza. Since it's sold by the slice, it's an easy, low-commitment way to try different flavors.
With pepperoni piled on the warm pizza, the first bite hit with a salty, rich flavor, plus the cheese's nutty, soft taste! The pepperoni's signature saltiness really came through, so it wasn't bland at all — proper pizza flavor through and through. The crust wasn't too thick or heavy either, so a whole slice felt lighter than expected.
It went especially well with the Budweiser. After a bite of salty, cheesy pizza, a sip of cold beer cleaned up the palate nicely.

How the mushroom slice tasted
Ordered alongside the pepperoni, the mushroom pizza suits you when you want something a little milder. It has a subtle mushroom aroma and flavor, with the cheese's nuttiness adding to a soft, mild taste — that's the point of it.
If pepperoni pizza is salty and rich, mushroom is the subtle one. Glad we ordered both haha :) The mushroom flavor blends naturally with the cheese, and the pizza itself never feels too intense, so it's easy to eat comfortably. Sticking to just one flavor might have felt a bit lacking, but alternating with the pepperoni made the contrast clear and more fun.

Drinks: bottled Budweiser and zero-sugar cola
Bottled Budweiser was nice and cold. It had a bit of a kick to the alcohol, which I liked even more. No to watery beer — I like a beer with a strong barley flavor 🧡
