A forest-view café in Uijeongbu for relaxing late

Among Uijeongbu’s many large cafés, I visited Forerest in Nogyang-dong, where the fresh forest view is especially appealing. Its hours are 11 a.m. to midnight, so it is easy to drop by comfortably even late at night.

True to its large-café scale, Forerest in Nogyang-dong, Uijeongbu has a variety of indoor seating and a spacious outdoor terrace. From the cozy wood-furnished interior to the outdoor tables set amid the fresh forest, its open space is the standout. The blend coffee, made with specialty beans, tasted great, and the café also serves Basque cheesecake made in-house.

It is perfect if you are after a quiet, cozy space. It feels as though you have escaped the city for a visit to a forest cottage.

What about the location and parking?

Located in Nogyang-dong, Uijeongbu, the café has a large parking lot for more than 50 cars. Since it is surrounded by forest, visiting by car was more convenient than public transportation. If using public transit, get off at Uijeongbu Station, take bus 8, and get off at Ujeong Maeul—it is nearby.

It is in Nogyang-dong, Uijeongbu. With forest all around, you can take in a lush green view. The parking is well set up, too. There is a large lot for more than 50 cars, so you can visit without worrying about parking. Just do not forget to be careful on the way to the lot if your car has low ground clearance!

Wood interiors and a spacious seating atmosphere

There were varied table seats indoors and a broad outdoor area. Once inside, you find a space styled with warm, cozy wood interiors. It suits the forest setting so well.

The interior is large and has plenty of tables, so it would be fine for a group gathering, too! There is a good variety of seating.

There are lots of lovely decorative details in each area, so it is fun just looking around. The overall atmosphere is cozy and feels made for healing and relaxation.

Rather than being loud and hectic, it is arranged with a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere where you can truly rest. As a Uijeongbu café that stays open late and closes at midnight, it also had plenty of evening visitors!

Forerest’s menu and the desserts I ordered

Here is the menu at Forerest in Uijeongbu. Americano is ₩5,500, caffè latte ₩6,500, espresso ₩5,800, lemon ade ₩6,800, apple ade ₩6,800, and orange juice ₩7,800. The signature item was Basque cheesecake. There are five flavors: original, chocolate, black sesame, matcha, and Earl Grey. I ordered the original Basque cheesecake for ₩7,500 and the chocolate Basque cheesecake for ₩8,000.

How did the iced Americano and latte taste?

For drinks, I chose an iced Americano and an iced caffè latte. The coffee had a pleasing balance of moderate acidity and nutty richness.

I usually enjoy a nutty Americano, and I could taste a little acidity here—but it was a pleasant amount.

The latte was nutty and delicious, too.

How were the original and chocolate Basque cheesecakes?

The dense texture and deep cheese flavor were so appealing. If you normally love a rich, dense cheesecake, you cannot help but fall for this texture. Its cheese flavor was intense, making it a dessert that paired beautifully with coffee.

If you are a chocolate lover, you cannot resist chocolate Basque cheesecake! This was not a cheap-tasting chocolate—it had a rich cacao flavor! You can taste that it was made with good ingredients.

It is a great place to visit when you want a cup of coffee while looking out at the forest in Uijeongbu. It stays open late and has a spacious interior, so it was fine for visiting with several people, too.
