Quiet 3pm shabu-shabu visit and new bowl rules at Dadam, Wirye

In short

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is an all-you-can-eat beef shabu-shabu restaurant on the 3rd floor of G&G Plaza near Namwirye Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. A first-time visit at the quiet hour of 3pm was relaxed and unhurried, and a new self-bar rule now separates black and white bowls by use for a tidier setup. Beef buffet is 21,900 won, with wolnamssam (Vietnamese rice paper wraps), porridge and affogato all covered in one family meal.

Genuinely my Nth visit to Dadam Shabu Shabu..! It's one of my all-time favorite restaurants. Great for family visits and for a healthy, filling meal. Fully recommend it. A place parents would love too!

We usually prefer street parking nearby, so if we spot an open spot in the alley, we just park there!

The menu we always get is the beef all-you-can-eat for 21,900 won. We usually come on weekends, and since there's no break time then, there's no price difference between lunch and dinner. Whenever you come, it's 21,900 won!

How quiet is it at 3pm?

I came at the awkward hour of 3pm for the first time, and it was pleasantly not crowded, which actually made for a more relaxed meal. Some families who'd finished eating were lingering over coffee and ice cream, chatting away. If you want a separate group table like that, book ahead for a good view and atmosphere!

Over 40 kinds of vegetables at the self-bar

One of the huge strengths of this place, I think, is how fresh the ingredients are kept (clean, clean, clean). I especially love minari (water dropwort) and garlic chives, so I can't help coming back often. Apparently there are over 40 kinds!!!

They have wolnamssam ingredients, meatballs, kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) fixings and more, so tons of customization is possible. There's kimchi too, and plenty of sauce options. I'm addicted to sweet chili sauce.

The meat comes in two kinds, beef short plate and beef neck, and alternating between them is delicious. There's plenty for fried rice or porridge too — egg, sesame oil, seaweed flakes, rice, all laid out so you can make it exactly your way.

Highly recommend for wolnamssam lovers too! You can refill hot water yourself without hesitation, and there are so many vegetables to pair with it — so much fun, so much fun.

New bowl-use rules

This time I noticed there was a new system for using the bowls. Deep black bowls are for shabu vegetables! Flat black bowls are for meat! White bowls are for wolnamssam ingredients! With the bowls' purposes divided like this, it should keep things even tidier :-)

Half spicy, half clear broth

We ordered half spicy broth and half clear broth. Once it started to boil a bit, I'm impatient so I threw the vegetables in right away.. So exciting, this moment!!!!

Once it was bubbling away, we added the meat. Beef neck and beef short plate, exactly half and half! I picked them out with an eagle eye! Ate like a total food fighter until my stomach was suddenly round,,, We usually have fried rice or porridge too but skipped it today. I'll swap in photos from another day instead.

We finely chopped garlic chives, minari, and mushrooms and made porridge in the clear broth. I bet it'd be delicious in the spicy broth too. Slurp slurp.

Finishing with ice cream affogato

Can't skip the ice cream affogato time!! This is also my partner's favorite moment. Pour out as much ice cream as you like, add espresso on top, and it beats an ice cream latte, no contest~~~~ The coffee's available for takeout too, so you can handle everything right here in one stop!

Cleaned my plate again today and skipped dinner... I was way too full.. The nature of all-you-can-eat.. Got a solid meal done today at this Namwirye Station favorite!
