All-you-can-eat soy crab in Goyang, two people ate 17 crabs: Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil

The moment I asked my friend to go eat soy crab, she said she'd been waiting for this day hahaha. I actually can't eat soy crab... never got into it...

So this time my Ilsan buddy and I rushed straight to an all-you-can-eat soy crab place: Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil.

Location and business info

They're open daily 11:00–21:20, with a break time on weekdays from 15:20–16:20, and no break time on weekends.

It was also pretty convenient by bus. It's right in front of a bus stop, so as soon as you get off at Samneung Station, you just cross the road. That kind of accessibility is amazing..!

Monday 1pm and already 5 parties waiting

We visited around 1pm on a Monday.

And... ^^ there were already 5 parties ahead of me.. A wait on a weekday lunch — I guess a good restaurant really is a good restaurant.

Looking at the people waiting, there were quite a few grandmas and grandpas too. Seeing that kind of thing just gives you confidence!

Deodeo Ganjanggejang has actually been featured on TV, and back in 2020 it was introduced on SBS Live Today as an all-you-can-eat soy crab and marinated crab spot! It's also a Blue Ribbon restaurant, in case that means anything..

Waiting? You endure it, for the sake of all-you-can-eat. We signed the waitlist, waited about 30 minutes, and finally got in><

Inside the restaurant and seating

The interior wasn't super spacious.

There were about 12–13 tables, and it didn't feel like a huge, massive place. So I figured if it gets crowded at meal times, waiting is unavoidable.

Still, turnover seemed pretty quick, since we only waited about 30 minutes before getting in.

All-you-can-eat menu and pricing

What we ordered, without even needing to think about it, was the all-you-can-eat for two! (They also have a set-table menu.)

The all-you-can-eat set is soy crab + spicy marinated crab + crab stew, priced at ₩24,900 per person. Rice is extra.

Wait, hold on... all-you-can-eat and it's not even ₩25,000 per person? Unlimited soy crab, marinated crab, AND crab stew?

Once you sit down, they give you all the tools you need to eat. We immediately put on plastic gloves. Now it begins..!

How do the soy crab and marinated crab taste?

And then the crab finally arrived... wow... an absolutely explosive visual.

First off, the crabs were way meatier than I expected. Insanely packed with meat..

Honestly, it had been so long since I'd had soy crab that I was almost tearing up from how moved I was?

The soy crab wasn't too salty — just slightly savory-salty and clean, good eaten on its own or with rice! (Not being too salty was actually a plus. I never got sick of it and kept eating nonstop.)

The marinated crab is definitely spicier than the soy crab. But it's spicy AND delicious.

Squeeze the meat out of the shell, add rice, seaweed, flying fish roe, and mix it all together. Just an unbeatable combo ㅠㅠ

The crab stew is also great, and even the noodles are unlimited

Crab stew comes with the set too, and the broth was so refreshing. They said the noodle add-ins are all-you-can-eat too.

But we saved the noodles for later. Why? Because we had to focus on the crab. Can't fill up on ramyeon~

Is the crab still meaty even on refills?

Honestly, there's one thing that always worries me at all-you-can-eat places. The first serving is fine, but the more you refill, the smaller the crabs get and the less meat there is ㅠㅠ But that wasn't the case here..!

For refills, they give you 2 crabs at a time, and even the refill crabs were insanely meaty. The yield is amazing.

Usually with all-you-can-eat, quality tends to drop the more you go, but here even the refill crabs were packed with meat, which I really appreciated.

And how much did we actually eat? My friend and I... 17 crabs, together hahahahahaha

Exactly 8 rounds. Since each round is 2 crabs, 8 rounds would be 16, plus the initial serving, so about 17 crabs total.. The ajusshis sitting next to us actually ate less than us...

But when something's this good, you can't stop yourself.

Overall verdict

If you're looking for all-you-can-eat soy crab in Ilsan, I highly, highly recommend this place! The all-you-can-eat price at ₩24,900 isn't a burden at all, and you get soy crab, marinated crab, and crab stew together — but what I liked most was that the crab meat stayed full and meaty even on refills..! (That was the best part for me.)

I genuinely enjoyed it so much that I'll be back. Honestly, even writing this post now, my mouth is watering ㅠㅠ
