Sejong Korean BBQ restaurant with pork variety set: Hanmaeum

Today’s Sejong food spot is Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Sejong Daepyeong Branch (한마음정육식당 세종 대평점) in Daepyeong-dong, Sejong! I was searching for restaurants around Geumgang Riverside Park and visited after a friend who lives in Daepyeong-dong recommended it.

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Sejong Daepyeong Branch is at Suite 207, Sydney Hill, 35 Sicheong-daero, Sejong-si. It is open from 11:30 to 22:00, with a weekday break from 15:00 to 17:00. Last orders are at 21:30, and there is also a KIDS ZONE.

Where should you park?

If you’re driving, you really do not need to worry too much about parking! You can use the underground parking in the building, and there is also a large public parking lot right beside it. Personally, parking can quietly become a concern when I visit restaurants in Sejong, but this place had plenty of options with both the building lot and the public lot next door. It would be especially convenient for families or larger groups arriving in separate cars!!

It is on the second floor of the Sydney Hill shopping complex.

A spacious dining room and playroom

Once inside, the restaurant was bigger than I expected. There were quite a few tables, so it looked good for everyone from families to larger groups, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable for grilling meat. Korean BBQ places can feel uncomfortable when they are too cramped and the next table is right beside you, but this one had enough room to dine more comfortably.

And the space that stood out most was the playroom! There is a separate place where children can play before or after the meal, which seems like a really big plus for families visiting with kids.

There are arcade machines, claw machines, and gachapon machines on either side of the playroom, too, so adults can enjoy their meal and meat while kids can spend time without getting restless. If you are looking for a place for a family meal in Sejong, I highly recommend it!

Aged half-pork set and self-service-bar sides

They offer many different cuts of both pork and beef, plus a few side dishes. The lunch specials are affordable too, so I need to come back and try them next time!!

This is all banchan (Korean side dishes)! From soybean paste stew to all these side dishes, the spread was pretty generous 👍

Rather than eating just one cut the whole time, it was nice to alternate between several kinds without getting tired of it until the end. The meat was nicely thick overall, so it had a satisfying bite once grilled, and it was even better with the basic sides and accompaniments.

This kimchi was especially amazing! I do not think it was silbi kimchi, but it was spicier than expected and so addictive that I refilled it three times.. haha

Why it worked well for a family meal

The meat tasted good, parking was easy, and there was even a playroom—this is a great Korean BBQ restaurant in Daepyeong-dong, Sejong for a family meal! If you are looking for somewhere to eat meat with your family in Daepyeong-dong, Sejong, Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Sejong Daepyeong Branch would be a solid option!! The ample parking, spacious dining room, and playroom for children were especially nice. If you want to try several cuts together, I also recommend the aged pork assortment I ordered!
