Sejong first-date Korean restaurant: ₩25,000 course at Bapkkot Hansang
In short
Bapkkot Hansang is a Korean restaurant on the 3rd floor of 91 Doum8-ro, Sejong, between Sejong Lake Park and Sejong Arboretum. On a Saturday at 2pm with a reservation, the Bapkkot Special (₩25,000 per person) arrived in two rounds, appetizers first and then the main spread, with the thick doenjang herb bibimbap and the tteokgalbi standing out. Bapkkot Hansang feels relaxed rather than formal, which makes it an easy pick for a first date or a family meal.

While looking for a Korean restaurant in Sejong, I got lucky and ended up at Bapkkot Hansang ɞ Personally I thought this would be great not just for a first-meeting spot like a blind date, but also for visiting with parents or family!
Plus it's near Sejong Lake Park, so you can have a hearty Korean meal and then go for a walk afterward — a course I found pretty satisfying ⭐️

Where to park at Bapkkot Hansang

First, about parking at Bapkkot Hansang — you can use the building's underground lot, and it's free, so it was easy to visit by car :) When you leave after your meal, just tell them your license plate number and they'll register you for free parking!

Bapkkot Hansang is on the 3rd floor of the building :) When the elevator doors open, the restaurant is right there on the left!
Why Bapkkot Hansang works for a first date

Since it's a Korean course meal, I expected a somewhat formal atmosphere at first,, but once I actually visited, it was more relaxed than I thought, making it a good setting for chatting over food on a first date or family outing :) Being Korean food, there's less pressure over choosing a menu, and since it comes as a full spread, it seems great for dining with several people too.
I visited with a reservation around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon ✅ Even though it was past lunchtime, there were still quite a lot of customers..! If you're visiting on a weekend, I'd recommend booking ahead so you can eat comfortably without waiting!
What comes with the ₩25,000 Bapkkot Special

What I ordered that day was the Bapkkot Special at ₩25,000 per person ⭐ The food comes out filling the whole table, and the spread was more generous than I expected! The Bapkkot Special I had is basically served in two rounds, like two courses.

Like this, the first round of appetizers comes out — from salad to a single bite each of boiled pork, and more, good for whetting your appetite before the meal!

Then the second round, the real meal, arrives. Rice, seasoned herbs, doenjang (fermented soybean paste), and stew all come out together!

You mix the herbs into the strong doenjang and stir it with rice, and this combination is surprisingly delicious, you know? The clean, mild herbs plus the savory doenjang made the rice go down so smoothly >.<

The tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties) that came as the main was lightly seared on the outside and tender inside, so the texture was great too. The seasoning isn't the aggressively sweet type — it's more about tasting the meat itself with a subtle sweetness, so it's a flavor that people of all ages would like! 🤎 The Bapkkot Special feels less like a light single meal and more like a proper full spread :)
Where to eat near Sejong Arboretum and Sejong Lake Park

It's close enough to be a good option not just near Sejong Lake Park but also when looking for a place to eat near Sejong Arboretum 💚 I think it'd be nice to visit in the evening too haha

If you walk around Sejong Lake Park at sunset, if you're lucky you might catch a performance or concert, and you can also meet a really gorgeous view with the sunset. Cats loafing like they're kneading bread,, >< 🐾
If you want to enjoy a tasty Korean meal along with a walk at Sejong Lake Park, try eating leisurely at Bapkkot Hansang :) If you're planning to combine a meal and a walk like I did, it's convenient for mapping out your route, and it's a great fit for when you want a hearty Korean meal after an outing — I really want to recommend it :)
