Bapkkot Hansang's full hanjeongsik table spread

I'm normally a total Korean food lover, but I've been so busy lately that I've been getting by on ramen or quick snacks a lot 🥹 At some point I just really craved a proper, warm Korean meal — banchan (side dishes) laid out neatly one by one, rice to fill me up, the whole hanjeongsik (Korean set-course meal) experience. So I went with my mom to Bapkkot Hansang (밥꽃한상) in Eojin-dong, Sejong 🌸

My mom said everything was clean and delicious too, haha. The food covered the entire table, so just looking at it felt filling, and after a while without a real Korean meal I was so satisfied 💕 If you're looking for a good spot near Sejong Lake Park for a family meal or to take your parents, hope this Bapkkot Hansang review helps!

Finding Bapkkot Hansang on the 3rd floor of the Machi Building near Sejong Lake Park, and where to park

Bapkkot Hansang is a hanjeongsik specialty restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Machi Building in Eojin-dong, near Sejong Lake Park 😊 The building has its own parking lot and they cover 3 hours of parking, so it was easy to visit by car 🚗 It's a good spot to walk around the lake park after eating too.

After the meal, plum tea and candy were set out for a palate cleanser 🍵🍬 The plum tea was clean and subtly sweet — a cup after eating was perfect for freshening the mouth 😊

The interior overall had a clean, calm atmosphere ✨ Since it's a hanjeongsik place, I saw a lot of families dining together, and it felt like a comfortable place to bring parents too 💕

Bapkkot Signature Course vs Bapkkot Special, plus the single rice bowls

The menu had Bapkkot Signature Course and Bapkkot Special, and the main difference between the two seemed to be whether the octopus-shrimp stir-fry comes with it. There were also a lot of options for a simple single meal 😊 Herbal-medicine boiled pork rice bowl, octopus-shrimp rice bowl, minari tteokgalbi rice bowl, beef brisket japchae rice bowl, spicy pork japchae rice bowl, seafood japchae rice bowl, doenjang paste rice bowl, spicy pork rice bowl — the rice bowl variety was really wide. There were also jeon (savory pancakes) or boiled pork available as sides, good for a simple meal.

What comes with the Bapkkot Special for two at 50,000 won

We ordered the Bapkkot Special for two that day 🌸 It's ₩25,000 per person, so ₩50,000 total. After a short wait the dishes started coming out one by one — true to hanjeongsik style, they didn't dump all the banchan at once, but served each dish carefully. As more and more kept coming, I started wondering if they'd even all fit on the table, haha.

The table filled up completely — it really felt like the table legs might buckle under the weight 😳💕 With barely any empty space left, it was so generously laid out that just looking at it made me feel full. There was so much variety I paused for a second wondering what to eat first, haha. Hanjeongsik really does feel this satisfying when the table is packed like this 🍚

Buckwheat noodles in perilla cream sauce

First I tried the perilla cream sauce buckwheat noodles to whet my appetite 🥢 The buckwheat noodles were chewy yet went down smoothly, and the nutty perilla cream sauce blended in gently, giving a light but savory flavor. The distinct nuttiness of perilla came through subtly without the sauce feeling too heavy, making it a great light start to the meal 😊

Salad with yogurt dressing

Next was the yogurt salad 🥗💕 Crunchy vegetables paired with a sweet-and-tangy yogurt sauce made for a refreshing bite. Where the perilla cream noodles were nutty, the yogurt salad was bright and zesty, great for waking up the appetite.

Eggplant and rice cake with perilla powder, dubu-kimchi, seaweed noodle japchae

The stir-fried eggplant and rice cake with perilla powder was also delicious 🍆🤎 The eggplant was cooked soft, paired with chewy rice cake, which worked well together. The perilla powder added a subtle nutty aroma that kept me reaching for more. Even people who don't usually like eggplant might enjoy it cooked this way.

My favorite, dubu-kimchi (tofu with stir-fried kimchi), also showed up 🥹❤️ Soft tofu topped with tangy, savory kimchi is always a great combo, and it didn't disappoint here either. The kimchi's seasoning paired well with the tofu's mild flavor.

There was also a slightly special seaweed noodle japchae 🥢 Being made with seaweed noodles instead of regular glass noodles, it had a much lighter, springier texture. The typically sweet-and-salty japchae seasoning was well absorbed, making it enjoyable without feeling heavy 😊

Boiled pork with fresh kimchi salad and chive pancake

The boiled pork with fresh kimchi salad (geotjeori-muchim) was really tasty too 🥩🥬 Softly boiled pork paired with crunchy fresh kimchi salad — the mild meat and the spicy-tangy seasoning matched really well, haha.

Can't forget the warm chive pancake either 😍 A subtle chive aroma with a crispy fry job made it delicious. The outside was slightly crisp while the inside stayed soft, and eating it warm made it even better 💚

Doenjang jjigae and thick gangdoenjang paste

And then came doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), essential to any hanjeongsik 🍲 Served piping hot, it immediately made me want rice. The savory doenjang flavor and the deep, salty broth were great with a spoonful of rice on the side.

Hot doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) served at the table

There was also a separate serving of ganjang doenjang paste (thick soybean paste dip) 🤎 It's good on its own as a side, but I tried mixing it into my rice — a real hidden gem. The salty, savory flavor of the paste spread evenly through the rice, and it was delicious even without any other banchan mixed in. Total rice thief 🍚💕

Six namul dishes and gangdoenjang bibimbap

A bit later, six kinds of namul (seasoned vegetable side dishes) arrived in a row 🌿🌿 Getting this many different namul really made it feel like a proper hanjeongsik. None of them were over-seasoned, just right, making them easy to pick at one by one. Overall the seasoning was mild and clean rather than sharp, and my mom said the namul were delicious too 😊

Each of us also got our own bowl of rice, so I mixed in a bit of the doenjang paste and all six namul to make a bibimbap 🍚🥹 With so many different vegetables, the texture varied and the savory doenjang paste flavor added even more depth — really delicious. A big spoonful of this doenjang-namul bibimbap tasted just like a comforting home-cooked meal 💕

How does the main minari tteokgalbi taste?

And finally, the main dish — minari tteokgalbi (rice cake-textured grilled patty with water dropwort) — arrived 🥩🌿 Tteokgalbi is one of those dishes that would feel like a letdown to miss in a hanjeongsik, haha. With gochujang (red chili paste) seasoning added, it had a slightly sweet and spicy kick that went perfectly with rice. Piling a piece on top of warm rice was so good 😍

Bapkkot Hansang's tteokgalbi in particular was a bit different from your average tteokgalbi 😊 The meat was finely minced and grilled just right, with minced minari (water dropwort) mixed throughout 🌿 A subtle minari fragrance rose up through the savory, juicy patty, keeping it from feeling greasy and making it clean to eat. The minari added a fragrant note that paired beautifully with the meat's flavor, especially with rice 🥹💕

Why Bapkkot Hansang works for a meal with parents

After a while without a proper hanjeongsik, this meal was really filling and satisfying 🍚🌸 Each dish came out neatly, with so much variety it was fun to work through slowly, and best of all, sharing it with my mom made it even better 🥰 If you're looking for somewhere to take your parents, or want a clean, hearty hanjeongsik with family, Bapkkot Hansang near Sejong Lake Park is worth a visit. I'd love to come back next time I'm craving a proper Korean spread with my parents again 💕
