Korean BBQ pork half-set and playroom in Boram-dong, Sejong: Hanmaeum

I went to Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant, a place I'd recommend for family dining out in Sejong! It's a premium aged-meat restaurant in Boram-dong, Sejong, with a spacious, comfortable 130-pyeong space, high-quality pork and beef, and even a playroom where kids can have a blast.

Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant Sejong Boram Branch is open Monday to Thursday from 16:00 to 3:00 the next day (last order 2:30), and Friday to Sunday from 11:30 to 22:00 (last order 21:30). The address is 219 Sichungdaero, Units 201–205, Sejong.

Since it's open until 3am on weekdays, it's perfect for a company dinner or a get-together! Parking at Hanmaeum Boram Branch is available in the building's basement lot, with 2 hours free by default — just ask if your gathering runs longer, they'll extend it.

Inside the 130-pyeong dining room: playroom and private rooms

The first thing that strikes you the moment you walk in is the sheer scale of the place! At 130 pyeong, this is a standout restaurant in Sejong.

We sat near the playroom, at a spacious table — group seating is available too.

On the opposite side from the playroom, there's separate seating for office workers and other guests to dine comfortably!

There are also various private rooms sized for different group counts. It's a great spot for a family gathering, company dinner, or group meetup in Sejong — I'd definitely recommend it.

In the middle of the restaurant there's a well-stocked self-serve bar with fresh wrap vegetables, various sauces, and side dishes you can help yourself to as much as you like. All the ingredients looked neat and hygienically managed!

You can't talk about Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant in Sejong without mentioning the playroom! As a mom, whether or not a place has a playroom really matters — and this one is a fully equipped, large playroom. With play equipment and claw machines, it's a place kids love, which means adults get to relax and enjoy the meat at this Boram-dong favorite in comfort too!

Pork half-set: samgyeopsal, mokssal, ogyeopsal and hangjeongsal in one order

The menu at Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant in Boram-dong is broadly divided into Hanmaeum aged pork and Hanmaeum aged beef, and you can choose a full or half order of either. There are plenty of side dishes too!

The basic table setting was very tidy! Fresh wrap vegetables, geotjeori (fresh kimchi salad), pajeori (scallion salad), and various sauces to go with the meat were all set up, with doenjang jjigae served as standard.

We ordered the pork half-set so we could try several cuts at once — samgyeopsal, mokssal, ogyeopsal, hangjeongsal, and more. The vivid pink color made it obvious at a glance that this was top-grade aged meat. 🥩

The moment the meat hit the hot grill, the juices came pouring out!

And it cuts so easily, in nice thick pieces!

Crispy outside, juicy inside — one bite and the juices burst out with a wonderfully chewy texture. I've been to many Hanmaeum branches, but my husband says the meat at the Boram branch is the best. Haha 👍🏻

You can't have delicious meat without a beer! Samgyeopsal and beer in Sejong is truly the best combo. 🍻

Signature jjolmyeon, free-refill doenjang jjigae and mul naengmyeon

And you can't skip Hanmaeum's jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodles)! The meat at this Sejong favorite is delicious on its own, but pairing it with the signature jjolmyeon doubles the flavor.

My favorite, Hanmaeum's doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) — mixed into rice, it's so good. Since it keeps simmering, you get to eat it warm throughout, and it's unlimited refills too. Haha

Craving something cool, we ordered the mul naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodle soup) as a side dish! The tangy-sweet broth topped with fine ice shards, paired with chewy noodles, cut through the richness and left our mouths feeling clean and refreshed. Wrapping a leftover piece of golden-seared meat in the naengmyeon noodles was the perfect combo — a truly complete meal!
