Yeouido izakaya night with mom: Nagasaki seafood nabe udon at Nani

These days, after work, my idea of the best kind of healing is having a drink in a quiet, cozy space while chatting away with someone. I recently found a Yeouido izakaya that nailed both the atmosphere and the food quality, so I wanted to share it. It's Nani Yeouido Branch!

A 3-minute walk from Yeouido Station, with private rooms

Nani Yeouido Branch is just a 3-minute walk from Yeouido Station, so accessibility is really great. It's super close to the station, making it an easy Yeouido Station restaurant to gather at after work or head out to before the last train.

Walking inside, there's a private room available for those who want an enclosed experience, and even the regular seats had curtains drawn, giving a real sense of having our own space. The lighting was soft and dim, giving off a strong izakaya vibe right away.

If you're looking for a Yeouido bar where you can chat comfortably without worrying about people around you, this place passes just on atmosphere alone. There are private spots scattered throughout for gatherings, which I found really satisfying.

I visited with my mom, and even though it's an izakaya, we could have a quiet conversation, which I loved so much! It could also work well as a Yeouido date spot.

I sat at a regular table instead of the private room, but because there was a separate curtain, the atmosphere wasn't noisy at all, which I really liked.

Free starters at Nani: sugared hardtack and seasoned seaweed stems

This came out before the food, and since the hardtack was coated in sugar, it made for a perfect drinking snack. Seaweed stem is also a side dish I usually love, so I enjoyed it a lot!!

Premium lamb shoulder rack: can a lamb beginner eat it?

I ordered the premium lamb shoulder rack, one of Nani Yeouido Branch's signature dishes, and it looked amazing the moment it hit the table. Lamb has that distinctive gamey smell that puts a lot of people off, right? Honestly, I used to be someone who couldn't handle lamb rack very well either.

But the lamb rack at Nani had absolutely no gamey smell at all — it was just soft and delicious, like eating regular, tasty meat.

I strongly recommend this as a real Yeouido Station restaurant menu item, great for lamb beginners with no real downside. The sauce was the standard sauce that comes with lamb rack orders, and dipping the meat in it made the combination even better!!

Above all, the visuals are no joke... you know how food looks even more delicious when you're hungry, haha.

Nagasaki seafood nabe with extra udon noodles

The Nagasaki seafood jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) we ordered alongside the lamb rack was the real highlight of this visit!!! Haha. If you only eat lamb rack you might get sick of it, but the slightly spicy, deeply flavorful Nagasaki seafood jjamppong broth was so delicious!! My mom, who came with me, loved it too.

The huge bowl was absolutely packed with seafood. The moment I took a sip of the broth, a rich, deep smoky flavor spread through my mouth.

When we added udon noodles on top, they filled the bowl to the brim, so we ate really generously and well. I strongly recommend adding the udon noodles!!!

When the food is this good, the drinks just keep going down smoothly — it's a really attractive Yeouido bar. The seafood kept coming out no matter how much we scooped, so we ate until we were full 😋

Final verdict on Nani Yeouido Branch

It's a Yeouido izakaya I keep thinking about and would gladly make a regular reservation spot. I was completely satisfied the whole time, enjoying high-quality food in a cozy, private space.

The staff were kind too, and combined with the great access to the station, this will probably be the first place I think of for after-work gatherings or dates in Yeouido.
