Dangsan Korean restaurant with a 10,000-won taster bossam: Cheongun
In short
Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is a bossam (boiled pork wraps) and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) restaurant in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, 247m from Dangsan Station Exit 13. On a Saturday lunch, the lunch-special spicy kalguksu for two (26,000 won) came in mild with an octopus topping, alongside a taster bossam for 10,000 won and a tuna mayo rice ball for 3,000 won, and all three worked: springy noodles, tender octopus and clean-tasting pork with no gamey smell. Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is a good-value pick for lunch or dinner near Dangsan Station.

Today I'm sharing the story of my lunch at Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch (청운보쌈 당산점), a Dangsan Station favorite for bossam (boiled pork wrap) and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup).
How to find Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch, 247m from Exit 13
Last Saturday I found an amazing restaurant around Dangsan. It was none other than Cheongun Bossam! Famous for its kalguksu and bossam, so I went to grab a delicious lunch there.

Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is 247m from Dangsan Station Exit 13, an easy walk from the subway station.

There were banners set up in front of the restaurant, and honestly, wasn't there way too much delicious-looking food on them? >_< I went in with sky-high expectations.

Inside Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch: seating and room for group dinners
Inside, there were plenty of tables with wide spacing between them, making it comfortable to eat and also good for groups — it seemed like a perfect spot for office workers' lunches or company dinners.

I noticed some medicinal herbs and homemade infused liquor above the menu board — the herbs seemed to be used for boiling the bossam.
Expecting the food to be both healthy and tasty, I looked over the menu. There was a great-value lunch special, plus bossam, kalguksu, and various side dishes. Since I came for lunch, I ordered the lunch special spicy kalguksu and a mini bossam.
What we ordered at Cheongun Bossam and what it cost
- Spicy kalguksu for 2, ₩26,000 (choice of regular/spicy, octopus topping)
- Mini bossam, ₩10,000
- Rice ball, ₩3,000

Side dishes and the self-serve bar
They brought out the basic side dishes. The stir-fried fish cake, seasoned bean sprouts, kimchi, and pickled onion were all perfectly seasoned and tasty. You could easily finish a whole bowl of rice with just those.

If you run out of any side dish, you can grab more from the self-serve bar.

Tuna mayo rice ball, 3,000 won
Before the main dish arrived, the rice ball came out first. And not just any rice ball — tuna mayo 👍🏻
A man diligently shaping it

The shape was a bit... rough 🫢 but the taste was pure honey. Moist, savory — you know exactly what flavor I mean. Guaranteed to taste amazing eaten with the spicy kalguksu.

Spicy kalguksu for two, 26,000 won: mild with octopus topping
The spicy kalguksu arrived too. You could choose between regular and spicy, and I went with regular. You could also choose a topping — octopus or pork tripe — and I chose octopus.

This one couldn't possibly taste bad just from the look of it! My mouth was watering just looking at it.
Loaded with plump octopus, and the smell was so good — better eat it quickly.

Something this good deserves a closer look. Everyone, wipe your drool.

How spicy is the mild version?
I put octopus on top of the noodles for one bite — wow, the noodles were incredibly chewy and the octopus was both tender and springy. It was 'regular' spice but somewhere around Shin Ramyun level, maybe a touch milder than Shin Ramyun — really just the right amount to enjoy. The sauce was spicy-sweet in a way that kept pulling me back for more.

The octopus was truly tender and delicious. If you visit for lunch, I highly recommend getting the spicy kalguksu with octopus topping.
Dipping the rice ball in it is obviously amazing too. I bet it would also be great just mixed into rice.

Taster bossam, 10,000 won, served with radish kimchi
While I was still marveling over the kalguksu, the mini bossam arrived.
Whether the meat looks soft and jiggly is super important. And it definitely looked wobbly-soft.

Eating it with the radish kimchi that came alongside is the best. The radish kimchi was so good, and the bossam was tender with no gamey smell at all, which made it even better. I ordered three dishes, and all three, without exception, were delicious at Cheongun Bossam! If you're looking for a good restaurant near Dangsan Station, or a solid spot for lunch or dinner, I recommend Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch!
Is Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch worth it?
A great bossam restaurant near Dangsan Station. It has a lunch special that makes it a good-value lunch option, and it's also popular for dinner. Both the bossam and the kalguksu are delicious, and the spicy kalguksu in particular really hit the spot for me. Recommended as a Dangsan favorite!
