Mokdong gopchang restaurant with bean sprouts for two: Omokgyo

In short

Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is a beef gopchang (small intestine) restaurant a 3-minute walk from Exit 1 of Omokgyo Station in Yangcheon, Seoul. Two friends shared the signature Traditional Handmade Garlic Gopchang for two (28,900 won, limited to 30 servings a day) plus fried rice, and the bean sprouts paired with the gopchang even better than the usual chives. With wide table spacing and soft lighting, Omokgyo Gopchang is a solid pick for a company dinner or group meal in Mokdong.

A company dinner recommendation in Mokdong: Omokgyo Gopchang

I met up with a neighborhood friend, an older brother figure to me, last week, and we decided to have dinner at Omokgyo, one of Mokdong's hot spots. ❤️ Today I'm sharing my review of Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch, which I'd also recommend as a company dinner spot in Mokdong. 😊

Where is Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch and how do you get there?

Omokgyo Gopchang is about a 3-minute walk from Exit 1 of Omokgyo Station, so it's very accessible for anyone looking for a good restaurant or company dinner spot near Omokgyo Station. 👍

I'd been excited about eating gopchang (beef intestine) all day, and after clocking out right on time, I headed straight to Omokgyo Station.

This alley has a nice vibe to it 😊

We arrived at Omokgyo Gopchang, the place responsible for our dinner tonight~! Turns out it was even featured on 'Live Today' 👍

Why Omokgyo Gopchang works for a company dinner: wide table spacing

The inside of Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch has soft lighting, almost like a bar~?!

For a gopchang place, the interior is really stylish and elegant. (The kind of vibe where the drinks just keep going down smoothly) 😊 But what I loved most was the wide table spacing — none of that chaotic gopchang-restaurant energy!! 👍👍👍

We were seated in a corner spot, which was perfect for chatting quietly over dinner. 😊👍

Omokgyo Gopchang menu and the price of Traditional Handmade Garlic Gopchang

True to a proper beef gopchang restaurant, the menu is built entirely around gopchang dishes,

There are 3 set menus for anyone who doesn't want to bother choosing, along with Omokgyo Gopchang's signature Traditional Handmade Garlic Gopchang, the safe-bet mixed gopchang, and a gopchang hot pot that's perfect as a drinking snack.

We wanted to try the signature dish, so we ordered two servings of Traditional Handmade Garlic Gopchang~! Traditional Handmade Garlic Gopchang: ₩28,900 (limited to 30 servings a day)

Side dishes and the sundubu-jjigae that come with the meal

Cheonyeop (beef stomach lining), onion sauce, salad, chive salad

Well-fermented scallion kimchi 👍👍👍

And even sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew) on top of all that! Loved how generous the basic side dishes were 🥰

The sundubu-jjigae was perfect as a soju snack both before and after the gopchang arrived 👍

A plate of chewy cheonyeop

The cheonyeop was fresh, so it had that nice chewy texture >_<!

The fire show, beef heart and how the garlic gopchang tastes

Soon after, the gopchang came out along with a fire show...!

Wow, the gopchang bursting into flames

Flames rising high during the gopchang fire show

This one my friend took, and the flames came out way bigger lol 👍

Once the fire show ends, the beef heart is nearly cooked through, so we ate that first.

Beef heart cooked after the fire show

At a good gopchang restaurant, the beef heart tastes like actual beef 🥰

Next up, the signature garlic gopchang..!

Traditional Handmade Garlic Gopchang with garlic cloves tucked inside
Garlic gopchang

Garlic gopchang has a whole clove of garlic tucked inside each piece of intestine, and since I already love eating garlic with beef gopchang normally, being able to get both in one bite was super convenient 😊❤️

Bean sprouts and garlic gopchang on the griddle

Bean sprouts over chives, plus grilled scallion kimchi

I ate the bean sprouts early since they say you should eat them before they wilt, and it turns out they went really well with the gopchang..? It broke my usual assumption that chives are the go-to with beef gopchang +_+ That day, the bean sprouts actually tasted better than the chives 👍

Scallion kimchi grilled together on the griddle

They also grilled scallion kimchi right on the griddle, and popping one in your mouth just as the gopchang starts to feel a bit rich refreshes your palate with that bright, well-fermented flavor >_<

Mushrooms and potatoes grilled alongside the gopchang
Well-cooked potatoes and mushrooms on the griddle

The mushrooms and potatoes were also cooked nicely, so tasty 😋

Fried rice served over beaten egg at Omokgyo Gopchang

Two servings of gopchang alone left us plenty full, but it still felt like we were missing carbs, so we ordered fried rice.

Here, the fried rice comes out uniquely served over beaten raw egg!

They told us we could eat it once the egg cooked through, but I wanted the rice to get a bit crispy, so I mixed and fried it together with the egg lol

Fluffy fried rice mixed with egg

Maybe because of the egg, it had this fluffy, mild flavor that wasn't too strong, and I loved it ❤️ I'd only meant to have a taste of the fried rice, but it was so good we ended up ordering three more beers to go with it lol >_<

Is Omokgyo Gopchang worth it for a group dinner in Mokdong?

Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch has a great atmosphere and isn't noisy, so it was perfect for enjoying delicious gopchang while chatting. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a company dinner or gathering spot in Mokdong. 😊 Next time I want to try one order each of garlic gopchang and mixed gopchang lol
