Thanon55 from outside: first floor of a hotel in Eojin-dong, Sejong

You know those days when the weather turns chilly and you crave a hot, deep broth, or those days when you're just craving that fragrant, savory Southeast Asian flavor? Recently I went to Thanon55, a Thai restaurant on the first floor of the Best Western Plus Hotel in Eojin-dong, Sejong :)
I've always really loved pho and curry, and this place won me over from the interior to the food's visuals to, most importantly, the taste — so I'm writing this post with a lot of genuine enthusiasm. I'll walk through everything from the store's atmosphere to my tasting notes on the signature dishes, so stick with me until the end! 💕

What's on the Thanon55 menu?

Beef pho ₩13,000, Thai-style pork bone pho ₩13,000, Thai-style curry beef tripe pho ₩18,000, Muu Tod curry ₩16,000.
What is Thanon55 like inside? A Bangkok resort-style interior

The moment I stepped into Thanon55, I felt like I'd walked into a pretty café or resort in Bangkok — that exotic atmosphere hit right away.

The vivid deep-blue and yellow walls, paired with rattan lighting and blue structural elements that give off a resort vibe, were visually really striking. Plant-filled corners added to the fresh, breezy feel throughout.

The store is spacious with comfortably wide table spacing, so it looked perfectly suited to family gatherings, dates, or work dinners.

On one side of the store there's a neat, well-organized self-bar area where you can grab side plates, side dishes, and sauces yourself.
How is the poo pad pong curry? Shell-on fried crab in yellow curry

We ordered beef pho and pad pong curry at Thanon55 :)

There's shell-on crab, fried to a golden, crispy finish, that you can eat shell and all. Crispy outside, moist inside, and the crab's inherent nuttiness and savoriness just explodes.

The yellow curry sauce, loaded with egg and coconut milk, has a soft, fluffy texture and isn't spicy at all — it's nutty with a gentle, lingering sweetness!

The curry comes on a wide plate with a generous portion of white rice. Mix the curry sauce into the rice and top it with a piece of crispy fried crab, and the combination of nuttiness, sweetness, and saltiness makes it impossible to put down the spoon.
Beef rice noodle soup for 13,000 won: how much meat, how rich the broth

The moment the bowl arrived, I gasped — there was so much meat! It's piled high with tender brisket that shreds smoothly along the grain, along with soft, slow-cooked shank-style beef.

Fresh bean sprouts line the bottom of the bowl, topped with chopped green onion, spices, and pickled vegetables as garnish — it's mouthwatering just to look at.

The broth tastes as deep and savory as its rich color suggests. The subtle Thai spice notes come through without being overpowering, so it's easy on Korean palates too. Pull up the meat, sprouts, and noodles together on your chopsticks for one big bite, and the harmony is just excellent!
The pairing of the rich, warm beef pho with the soft, sweet-and-nutty pad pong curry struck a really nice sweet-and-salty, warm balance.
Thanon55 in Sejong satisfied both on taste and atmosphere — if you're ever craving Thai food, definitely pay it a visit! Recommended!
