Am I the only one who wants both dwaeji gukbap (pork soup) and milmyeon (cold wheat noodles) when visiting Busan!? This time I went to the Busan Station main branch of Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap. I had the dwaeji gukbap and a large mul milmyeon — the gukbap had a clean broth with no gamey smell, and loading the milmyeon with cucumber and radish kimchi was seriously delicious! I also loved that I could get two of Busan's signature dishes in one place.
Can you eat gukbap and milmyeon in one meal near Busan Station?
As the name suggests, Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap lets you enjoy both milmyeon and dwaeji gukbap, so it's great when you want both. On my Sunday lunch visit there was about a 5-minute wait.

They even had parasols ready for people waiting outside — so touching haha. No need to write your name down for the wait, just line up.

The restaurant was spacious and clean overall, and it seemed like a good place to eat near Busan Station.

I ordered a large mul milmyeon for ₩9,000 and dwaeji gukbap for ₩10,000.

The basic side dishes came out first. Kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), chives, onion and peppers — good sides to pair with the gukbap and milmyeon. The chives especially came in a generous portion, perfect for adding into the gukbap.
And then the warm broth that comes out first! It was my hangover cure as a kid, and it was just as good as I remembered. Drinking the warm broth felt soothing, and it was nice to sip lightly before the gukbap.
Dwaeji gukbap at Yeongdong: rich but clean pork broth
The dwaeji gukbap at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is ₩10,000, served in a stone pot with milky-white broth topped with pork, chives, and green onion. Gukbap has to come out piping hot — that's the whole point!

I tried the broth first with a spoon — the dwaeji gukbap here had a clean style.
You'd usually think of dwaeji gukbap as a heavy broth, but here it's on the cleaner, lighter side, which suited my taste perfectly haha. Most of all, there was no gamey pork smell, which I really appreciated!
Adding the chives too! The fragrant chives make the gukbap taste even better haha.

Eating the pork on its own, then with chives and rice together — it felt like a hearty, complete meal.

After eating for a while, I added some dadegi (spicy seasoning paste) too.

Adding the dadegi made the flavor heavier — personally, I liked it better without it. Though it's tasty with it too haha.
Mul milmyeon tip: add the cucumber and radish kimchi
The mul milmyeon (large) was ₩9,000, served in a big stainless steel bowl topped with seasoning sauce and egg.

Lifting the noodles with chopsticks, they were thin and smooth. One bite gave a chewy texture that went well with the cold broth. Milmyeon has an easy, mild flavor anyone can enjoy!

And definitely load it up with plenty of cucumber and radish kimchi. I added both, and the crunchy texture made it so much better.

With the cold broth, crunchy cucumber, and tangy radish kimchi all coming together, the milmyeon tasted even better. Adding the toppings really boosts the flavor compared to just eating the noodles alone!

There was also meat hidden in the milmyeon — I almost missed it since it had sunk to the bottom! The meat in the milmyeon was clean-tasting and delicious too.
Pork soup plus cold noodles: how filling is the combo?
This time I got to try both dwaeji gukbap and mul milmyeon at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap! I loved being able to enjoy both dishes in one place. The gukbap was warm and filling, and the milmyeon was refreshing alongside it. Ordering both instead of just one felt like I'd checked off everything I wanted to eat on my Busan trip in one go, haha.
I'd recommend Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap's Busan Station main branch to anyone who wants both dwaeji gukbap and milmyeon together. It's convenient whether you're looking for Busan Station dwaeji gukbap or Busan Station milmyeon — you can get both in one visit. If you want a hearty lunch during your Busan trip or want gukbap and milmyeon in one place, give Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap a try. I think I'll be craving it again next time I'm in Busan!
