On a nice weekend, I went out for a stroll around Mangwon-dong and stopped by this new café — Mangwon dessert spot PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch — to enjoy some coffee and dessert together!

Where is PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch, and where can you park?

PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is located about a 5-minute walk from Mangwon Station Exit 2. There's no dedicated parking space, so if you're driving, I'd recommend using a nearby public lot like the one at Mangwon 1-dong Community Center or Mangwon Market.

Entrance of the café, 5-minute walk from Mangwon Station

Apparently PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is the specialty roastery café that opened in Mangwon-dong following the Magongnaru branch. It's fairly close, about a 5-minute walk from Mangwon Station Exit 2, and not far from Mangwon Market or Mangridan-gil either, making it a good spot for a Mangwon-dong date course.

Interior of the well-lit semi-basement café

A semi-basement café that still feels open

PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is a semi-basement café, but the windows are big and the lighting is great, so it didn't feel stuffy at all. Actually it felt kind of atmospheric, which I liked haha. The clean wood-tone tables paired with soft lighting made for a cozy, warm mood.

The space isn't overly flashy or busy — it feels calm and orderly, which is great for lingering over a cup of coffee.

There's also a cozy window seat that's great for staying quietly on your own. Since it looks out onto the street, it seemed good for a solo café visit or just resting for a bit.

A specialty roastery that roasts its own beans

At PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch's open coffee bar, you could naturally watch the coffee being made. Apparently PICT Roastery handles everything themselves, from roasting the green beans to extraction, as a roastery café focused on the true flavor of coffee. They use single origins roasted weekly in-house, plus the best blend beans for each season!

Coffee being extracted at the coffee bar

They had coffee types like americano, latte, cappuccino, and café mocha, plus teas and ades. For dessert there was aged French toast and tiramisu, among others, so you can pair something with your coffee preference. Everything looked delicious, so it was hard to choose.

I also liked that bean samples were displayed along with descriptions of each bean's characteristics. If it's hard to choose a bean to your taste, you can read the descriptions or ask the staff for a recommendation!

When everything arrived at once, the colors and visuals looked so appetizing. Two cool drinks plus a sweet tiramisu — a perfect combo for resting after a walk around Mangwon-dong.

Americano, 4,900 won

The americano was clean but the aroma really came through, pairing well with the sweet dessert. True to a specialty roastery that roasts its own beans, the aroma and flavor of the beans were clearly noticeable, so coffee lovers would really enjoy visiting here.

Mint fresh lemonade, 7,500 won

The mint fresh lemonade had lively lemon tartness and refreshing carbonation, making it great for cooling down.

It left a fresh, clean feeling in my mouth, which paired well with the sweet Mangwon-dong dessert haha.

Pistachio tiramisu, 8,000 won

Personally, the menu item I was most looking forward to — pistachio tiramisu. It's topped with finely chopped pistachio, and the cream itself carried a nutty pistachio flavor too.

The moist sponge plus cream melted in my mouth, and the pistachio bits in between gave both nutty flavor and a fun texture to chew on haha. It was sweet but not heavy or overly rich, and eating it with the americano made it even more delicious — I kept going back for more 😋 If you like pistachio desserts, this is a menu item worth trying at this Mangwon dessert spot.

Is PICT Roastery worth a stop on a Mangwon-dong weekend walk?

PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is a good stop before or after checking out Mangwon Market or Mangridan-gil, and its location also makes it convenient to grab coffee to go before heading to Mangwon Hangang Park. I'd recommend this good-vibe café where you can enjoy house-roasted coffee and tasty Mangwon-dong desserts in a calm atmosphere — PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch.
