Yeouido IFC Mall snack restaurant, Friday after-work wait

In short

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a Korean snack restaurant (bunsik) by the moving walkway that leads from Yeouido Station Exit 3 into IFC Mall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. On a Friday at 5pm the writer ordered the Hyeonseoni Set for 23,000 won (tteokbokki, mixed fried snacks, sundae, and rice balls) at medium spice; there was a wait, but tables turned over fast, and even medium left a sharp sting at the finish. A solid pick for spicy rather than sweet tteokbokki, or for takeout to eat at Hangang Park.

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch in Yeouido

Main photo of Hyeonseonine Premium at Yeouido IFC Mall

I was trying to figure out what to grab for a quick dinner after work in Yeouido, and suddenly craved tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), so I headed to Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch. It ranked high when I searched for the best tteokbokki spots in Yeouido. Since they had a set that let me eat tteokbokki, fried snacks, and sundae (Korean blood sausage) all at once, I didn't overthink it and just ordered the Hyeonseoni Set. I got there around 5pm on a Friday, and as expected for Yeouido rush hour, it was packed haha. There was even a wait, which caught me a little off guard, but tables turned over faster than I expected so I didn't have to wait too long.

Where is Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch and how do you get there?

📍 IFC Mall B2, 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. From Yeouido Station Exit 3, just head toward the moving walkway on the way into IFC Mall and you'll find it easily. No need to go all the way inside the mall — you'll spot it right as you ride the moving walkway!

How long is the wait at 5pm on a Friday?

We visited around 5pm on a Friday, and even at that hour it was seriously crowded. There were people waiting outside the restaurant, so we had to wait a bit, but since it's a casual snack place, table turnover was pretty quick.

There's seating both inside the restaurant and outside at tables set up in front of the moving walkway.

Indoor seating with 2-top and 4-top tables

There's a good mix of 2-top and 4-top tables. You order at the kiosk and staff bring the food to you.

Self-serve bar with radish, salt, and utensils neatly arranged

Radish, salt, and utensils are self-serve at a station. Given how busy the place is, I expected it to be chaotic, but the self-serve bar was neatly organized, which I appreciated. If you need salt for the fried snacks or sundae, be sure to grab it here!

What comes in the 23,000-won Hyeonseoni Set?

The Hyeonseoni Set, ₩23,000. Instead of ordering separate items, we just got the Hyeonseoni Set for ₩23,000. It comes with tteokbokki, mixed fried snacks, sundae, and rice balls. I thought gimbap (seaweed rice roll) was supposed to come with it, but on our visit we got rice balls instead of gimbap.

The portion was seriously generous.. Being able to eat tteokbokki, sundae, and fried snacks all at once makes this a great option for sampling a bit of everything when you're with a group. It also seems like a good option to get as takeout before heading to Yeouido Hangang Park.

How spicy is medium-spice tteokbokki at Hyeonseonine?

At Hyeonseonine you can choose how spicy your tteokbokki is. We went with medium to be safe, and it was spicier than I expected! It's not that it hits you hard right away — more that the aftertaste has a slight sting the more you eat. Personally, I'd say it felt a bit spicier than Shin Ramyun. What I liked most was that it wasn't overly sweet — the spicy flavor really stood out. Dipping the fried snacks in the tteokbokki sauce cut through the greasiness too, so that combo was good.

What's in the mixed fried snacks?

The mixed fried snacks were more satisfying than expected! The batter wasn't soggy at all and fried up nice and crispy. Our set came with 1 sweet potato fritter, 1 squid fritter, 1 vegetable fritter, 1 gimmari (seaweed roll), and 1 yaki-mandu (grilled dumpling). The portion was bigger than I expected, so pretty generous overall. It's tasty on its own, but dipping it in the tteokbokki sauce is really the way to go haha.

Sundae (blood sausage) and offal

The sundae wasn't just sundae — it came mixed with offal like liver, gopchang-style parts (osori gamtu), and lung. There was almost no gamey smell, and it was served hot, so it was delicious. If you're into offal, this combo will satisfy you!

Rice balls topped with mayo sauce, seaweed, and sesame seeds

The rice balls come loaded with mayo sauce, seaweed flakes, and sesame seeds, plus teriyaki sauce on the side — you could honestly make a full meal out of just this haha.

Honest verdict on Hyeonseonine IFC Mall Branch

Even at 5pm on a Friday it was busy enough that there was a wait, but tables turned over quickly so I didn't end up waiting as long as I expected. What I liked most, without question, was the tteokbokki. It suited my taste since I prefer spicy over sweet-style tteokbokki. Even the medium spice level left a slight sting in the aftertaste the more I ate, so if you can't handle spice well, I'd recommend ordering a lower level!

Also, since the tteokbokki sauce is spicy, dipping the crispy fried snacks in it worked really well together. The fried snacks were crispy, not soggy, and the sundae was packed with different types of offal like liver, osori gamtu, and lung, making the whole meal feel generous. I also liked that with just one ₩23,000 Hyeonseoni Set, I could try a bit of everything — tteokbokki, fried snacks, sundae, and rice balls.

Long wait? Get Hyeonseonine takeout for Hangang Park

If the restaurant is too crowded, I'd also recommend just getting takeout instead of waiting! Yeouido Hangang Park is just a short walk from IFC Mall, so on a nice day, it'd be great to grab tteokbokki and fried snacks to go from Hyeonseonine and eat them sitting at the park. Especially during rush hour or on weekends when IFC Mall gets packed, if the in-store wait is long, taking it to go and heading to the Han River is a solid option!

Being right on the path from Yeouido Station to IFC Mall, it's easy to access, and worked well whether for eating in or taking out. If you're craving spicy tteokbokki in Yeouido or looking for snacks for a Han River picnic, Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is worth a visit :)
