Busanjin bar's cheesy chicken hot-stone platter: Yuumangju

In short

Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a newly opened bar in Busanjin, Busan. We ordered Yuumangju Eda Moat Dak and spicy kimchi udon, and the generous cheese and piping-hot stone platter were the highlights. Verdict: a Seomyeon bar I want to revisit for either the first or second round.

Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch, close to Seomyeon Station

I met up with a friend I had not seen in ages and checked out Yuumangju, a newly opened hot-spot bar in Seomyeon, Busan.

Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch location and hours information

Here is the exterior of Yuumangju, the Seomyeon hot spot in Busan. It is a two- to three-minute walk from Exit 6 of Seomyeon Station. The sparkling sign totally caught my eye, so we hurried right in. It is on the second floor, directly above Thursday Party's second branch.

Isn't even the way up so pretty? You can tell the owner really cared about the interior. There are mirrors all over in front of the entrance, so definitely take photos there before you go. They come out hilariously haha.

Black interiors and seating for groups

This is the interior of Yuumangju, the Seomyeon hot spot in Busan. Since it has only been open for a short time, it was incredibly neat and clean. I am so into the all-black interior >< The cozy lighting makes everything look pretty and cool, too. There were loads of tables, so it looked great for group get-togethers. The staff were so kind, and it already seemed like they had lots of regulars.

Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch menu and starter snack

Here is the menu at Yuumangju, the Seomyeon hot spot in Busan. Having photos alongside it made everything look even more tempting. There are lots of side dishes too, so choosing is part of the fun. My friend and I had a very serious discussion about what bar food to get. Whisper whisper.

Garlic bread as the starter snack? The sweet sauce mixed through it made it even tastier. If this had not been our second stop, I think I would have ordered endless refills haha.

Soju: ₩5,500 × 3. The Chamisul label(?) has become so cute and tiny. I debated having somaek, a soju-and-beer mix, but the food seemed made for soju, so we went for it.

Yuumangju Eda Moat Dak loaded with cheese

Yuumangju Eda Moat Dak: ₩29,900. I was shocked as soon as I saw it. A huge bowl came piled with chicken neck meat, chicken thigh meat, and tons of cheese. It arrived fully cooked, so you can just eat it without turning on the gas burner. Because it was served on a stone platter, it did not cool down while we ate; I loved being able to have it hot from beginning to end.

Ahhh, it looks seriously delicious even in photos, right? The seasoning is amazing. It is nicely spicy, which makes you keep reaching for more. There is no way this flavor could divide opinions!! Watch the video for an even closer, more mouthwatering look. Yuumangju, the Seomyeon hot spot in Busan, has great music too. They played only songs right up my alley.

The chives as a little accent were so cute and tiny—click!

Wow, everyone!! It is a cheese bomb. It felt like they dumped in an entire bag of cheese~ Usually, other places never give enough cheese, so I end up ordering extra, but here they give you enough to eat spoonfuls of cheese on its own.

The chicken thigh meat was wonderfully tender, while the chicken neck meat had a great chewy texture. The cheese was so nutty, and the seasoning was delicious too, so of course we had to devour it. Anyone watching would have thought we came starving. Hehe.

When you are eating something spicy, pairing it with the sweet garlic bread that came as the starter is a fantastic match. Sweet, spicy, sweet, spicy—that is exactly it. Please try them together.

The perfect pairing with spicy kimchi udon

Spicy kimchi udon: ₩9,000. As we ate, we started craving something brothy, so we ordered the spicy kimchi udon. It arrived in a huge basin-like bowl! First I was shocked by the size, then I was shocked again by the incredible flavor. I think the bar food itself at Yuumangju, the Seomyeon hot spot in Busan, is simply delicious. At this point, we should kidnap the chef and make them cook for us.

The broth had a pleasantly spicy kick and tasted like instant hangover relief. The udon noodles were wonderfully bouncy and so satisfying to slurp, and the kimchi was crisp and ridiculously tasty! Please, please order it this way. Eda Moat Dak + spicy kimchi udon is a combination that cannot fail.

Such a generous serving that it never seemed to shrink, no matter how much we ate. Yuumangju, the Seomyeon hot spot in Busan, has plentiful and delicious bar food plus a cute, pretty interior, making it great for either the first or second stop. The staff were kind too, so it is the kind of bar that makes you come back for sure. Tton Ttoni is officially becoming a regular.
