In short
Uldong Bossam is a bossam restaurant in Jung-gu, Daegu. I ordered the medium Uldong Bossam set with 3 bowls of rice for moist, tender pork and handmade seasonal side dishes. Verdict: a memorable, home-style bossam meal with no unpleasant pork smell.

Uldong Bossam’s exterior and location in Gyodong, Daegu

It’s close to Daegu Station, Gyodong’s hot-place street, and Dongseong-ro, so the access is seriously amazing~ The retro yet clean, stylish exterior caught my eye right away, and I was already bursting with excitement before going in! ✨ Thanks to its unmistakable presence, I found it in one go even from a distance 🤩👏

The moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed by a spacious, comfortable room! 🌿💖 The tables are nicely spread out, so it’s easy to chat comfortably, and the stylish interior makes the mood so soft and pretty 🥰✨
Keeping up with the times, there’s a table-ordering system, so ordering from the menu is a breeze! 📱⚡ It’s also easy to call a staff member, which would be perfect for office workers at a busy lunch hour or for evening get-togethers 👍 I could immediately see why it’s loved for small gatherings, company dinners, and family meals too 👨👩👧👦💕 The owner and staff were so kind and welcoming that my mood instantly lifted 😇🌸

A full table of medium Uldong Bossam and 3 bowls of rice

At last, the main event I’d been waiting for—the medium Uldong Bossam and 3 bowls of rice—arrived! 🥩🍚

Wow... the second the table was set, I couldn’t help but gasp at how generous it looked 🤤💥 The bossam—boiled pork slices—was cooked with such care that it was moist and tender enough to melt in my mouth from the first bite! 🥩✨ It was clean-tasting with absolutely no porky smell, the kind of flavor you can keep eating forever 🍯😋
Especially, the handmade seasonal side dishes, which they make fresh every day, are the real deal! Rather than uniform factory-made banchan (Korean side dishes), they have that lovingly prepared home-cooked feel, making a perfect match with the bossam 🥗👍

Putting a tender slice of bossam on hot rice, then piling on the tasty handmade sides, made it such a rice thief—there’s no other way to say it 🍚🔥 We polished off 3 bowls of rice in the blink of an eye!
Final thoughts on Uldong Bossam
First impression: I was wowed by the stylish, comfortable interior and atmosphere! 🥰 Then there’s the convenient table-ordering system for smart, speedy service! The perfect harmony of soft, tender meat with no unpleasant smell and lovingly made side dishes! 🥩🥗
Uldong Bossam is great not only for a filling meal, but also with a range of drinks including soju, beer, makgeolli (Korean rice wine), and whisky! 🥂👍 If you’re looking for a proper bossam spot around Gyodong or Dongseong-ro in Daegu, don’t hesitate—definitely visit! I genuinely recommend this life-changing restaurant with 2,000% intention to return! 💖
